Job Summary

We are currently seeking a motivated and ambitious individual to join our dynamic sales team as a Genetic Analysis Instrument Sales Representative. As part of our team, you will be crucial in driving sales and revenue growth for our advanced scientific instruments and consumables (qPCR, dPCR, Capillary Electrophoresis).

This is a field-based sales position within the Bay Area (primarily South of Hayward, San Jose South to Monterey area).

A Day in the Life:
  • Responsible for meeting and exceeding their assigned geographic territory forecast. This will be accomplished by energetically pursuing new sales opportunities and by efficiently establishing strong business relationships with our current and future client base
  • Will possess strong technical acuity in the areas of qPCR, dPCR and Capillary Electrophoresis
  • Seeking individuals with business acumen to develop impactful account and territory plans and convert them into measurable business achievements. Must possess the ability to optimally manage sales funnels and excel in hunting, prospecting, and closing deals.
  • Primarily passionate about capital equipment sales and large reagent deals

Keys to Success:
Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or related field required

Experience:
  • 5+ years sales experience in Life Science, with 1+ years of capital equipment experience
  • Knowledge of qPCR, dPCR, Sanger sequencing is required.
  • Knowledge of microarray, NGS and other molecular techniques is preferred.
  • Selling experience in academic, pharmaceutical and biotech accounts

  • Scientific consulting competence: demonstrates technical credibility to collaborate with customers on technology solutions.
  • Capital sales competence: Proven track record to navigate sophisticated sales cycles, overcome objections, and secure high-value deals, chipping in significantly to revenue growth and market expansion.
  • Business acuity: dedication to meticulous territory planning, market knowledge, both accurate and timely forecasting. Develops and leads a business plan to meet or exceed business goals agreed upon by commercial management for the territory
  • Understands scientific project and business needs of the customer to position a Genetic Analysis solution (qPCR and/or Digital PCR and/or sequencing and/or microarray) to win the business. Actively promotes and sells consumables.
  • Leads sales process including sales forecasting, pipeline management, and sales tracking through the use of Salesforce system and other designated IT tools.
  • Possess outstanding closing skills, consistently converting prospects into satisfied customers

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $106,000.00-$145,000.00.
