Are you a detail-oriented professional with a passion for parts and service management? SMS Equipment is looking for a Parts and Service Specialist to create and manage accurate parts and service quotes across Western Canada. Your efforts will improve efficiency, accuracy, and operational success.

Your Role:

Quote & Work Order Management

• Prepare customer quotes with service supervisors and parts department.
• Build and maintain a quote database and adjust completed quotations for returns.
• Open, classify, and maintain work orders, ensuring documentation is complete.
• Request equipment repair costing information and proposals from key business partners and equipment suppliers.

Collaboration & Reporting

• Work with business partners, suppliers, and SMS corporate flat rate group.
• Provide monthly performance reports on quoted tasks, focusing on gross margin.
• Track components, ensure job progress, and communicate with customers.

Product Development & Support

• Coordinate with operations, PSSR, and manufacturers for product design, pricing, and approvals.
• Gather information from OEMs and business partners to ensure accurate, detailed quotes specific to customer needs.
• Lead monthly product development meetings and track inventory for forecasting.

Costing & Equipment Quotation

• Provide cost-based quotes for equipment, evaluating performance from new to used.
• Support quoting for both new and surplus machines, including parts and service.
• Communicate with customer representatives regarding job completion, actual costs, and request for revised purchase orders.

What You Bring:

• Minimum 7 years of experience in parts, or at least 5 years as a ticketed mechanic or service estimator with a parts ticket.
• Technical knowledge of construction and mining equipment.
• Familiarity with logistics and bulk shipments.
• Ability to drive and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency
• Proficiency in MS Office and electronic parts/service information systems.
• Strong interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills (verbal and written).
