Director, HR Business Partner | Los Angeles (Hybrid)
Established investment advisory firm ($60B+ AUM) seeks a dedicated hire responsible for providing daily tactical/strategic support regarding people and organizational development strategies in support of firm's business objectives.
Responsibilities:
Work closely with management/employees to improve work relationships, build morale and increase productivity/retention
Responsible for partnering with the various business teams to support efforts related to performance management/employee relations
Execute DE&I strategies on behalf of firm and work collaboratively with firm's investment management affiliate on firm-wide initiatives
Participates in new employee orientation to successfully onboard new hires
Partner with firm's investment management affiliate's HR team and firm Leadership on compensation plan management including the design, documentation and communication of compensation plan details; participate in compensation benchmarking surveys, analyze results and develop recommendations for salary administration
Network within the marketplace to understand competitive market practices and identify networking opportunities to enhance brand image/continued professional development
Drive learning/development for firm and partner with firm's investment management affiliate for various workshop development curricula
Responsible for the coordination of HR-related RFP responses/reporting
Represent HR in Institutional sales/client service due diligence-related meetings
Design/manage the College Rotation program in coordination with the firm's investment management affiliate's learning and development team
Provide HR policy guidance/interpretation
Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes and new technologies in human resources/talent management/employment
Work in conjunction with the firm's investment management affiliate's talent acquisition team on talent pipelining/recruitment of candidates, ensuring that the company is attracting/retaining top talent
Leverage data/analytics to measure the effectiveness of HR programs/initiatives
Use insights to make informed recommendations to enhance the HR strategy
Serve as the main point of contact for all HR matters for firm's employees
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in business administration, Human Resources or an equivalent field
At least 7+ years of progressive HR experience in the financial services industry, such as buy-side asset management or private wealth management firms
Supervisory experience is preferred
Professional certifications in HR (e.g., SHRM-SCP, PHR, CIPD) are a plus
Strong experience working with HCM systems such as Workday or its equivalent
Technical skills including advanced experience with Microsoft PowerPoint/Excel along with the ability to create/deliver presentations
Strong understanding of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulations with a focus on California employment law
Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, diversity, performance management and federal and state-respective employment laws
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively and inspire trust/confidence at all levels
The ability to prioritize tasks and delegate when appropriate
The target base salary range is $150-185k. The starting salary offer will vary depending on factors such as applicant's education, experience, skills, alignment with market data, etc. Company offers an extensive/competitive benefits package as well.
