SALARY RANGE: 169,769.60 - 263,161.60YEARLY

General Summary:

The Director of Advanced Practice Clinicians (APCs) for Bayhealth Medical Group (BMG) is a transformational, visionary leader who is responsible for helping to lead the overall strategic planning for the clinical programs aligned with the Bayhealth Medical Group mission, vision, and patient care standards of practice regarding Advanced Practice Clinicians.

This Leadership role collaborates and coordinates with Vice President, Physician Services & Clinical Integration and the Vice President, Bayhealth Medical Group to ensure APCs, as interprofessional team members, meet the needs of patients and improve health and system outcomes for BMG. The Director provides clinical and administrative leadership for APCs to ensure standardized delineation of privileges, credentialing processes, and core competencies specific to practice transformation driven by national quality and regulatory agencies. Supports BMG APCs through direct management of daily issues as well as developing and implementing a structural process with safety, quality, patient experience, and fiscal targets aligned with measurable metrics. Accountable for APC personnel and resource management in collaboration with system and Medical Staff Services. The Director is an active participant in respective local, state, and national governing bodies and shares regional and national trends with BMG leadership.

This position will assume 50% Leadership function and 50% Clinical function.

Responsibilities:

1. Oversees Bayhealth Medical Group APC's, including education, management, and evaluation. May assist in the education, management and evaluation of other APCs employed through non-BMG service lines.
2. Implement and support patient care models that ensures APCs are working at the top of their licensures. Coordinate programs and projects which improves the overall quality of care provided by APCs in Bayhealth Medical Group.
3. Collaborate with Medical Staff, related disciplines and departments, and Talent Acquisition to organize on-boarding of APCs, implement standardized guidelines for credentialing, privileging, and competency assessments of hired APCs at individual Bayhealth Medical Group sites. Act as a liaison with APCs and managers and nursing/ancillary staff.
4. Advances clinical competence in APC practice to progress from competent to expert.
5. Develop and lead an environment that cultivates a professional image of APCs to colleagues, communication standards include styles and methods that demonstrate caring, respect, empathy, kindness, and trust. Assure adherence to Bayhealth policies that intersect with APC practice.
6. Ensure collaboration with Billing Department to optimize reimbursement.
7. Assure adherence to Bayhealth policies that intersect with APC practice
8. Act as a liaison with APCs and managers and nursing/ancillary staff
9. Create policies and procedures for medical and administrative APC practice
10. Participate in APC budgets, including budget variances, according to Bayhealth Medical Center financial goals in collaboration with medical leadership
11. Assist in crisis management. Serve on appointed committees.
12. With collaboration of the Marketing Department, Oversight of communication (email, web-based, text, letter) and community, mobile and APC onsite and community events.
13. Provide direct medical care services.
14. All other duties as assigned within the scope and range of job responsibilities.

Required Education, Credential(s) and Experience:

  • Education: Master Degree
    ; Nurse Practitioner
    ; OR Master Degree Physican Assistant
  • Credential(s): Board certified by a recognized National Board.
    Nurse Practitioner
    Nurse Practitioner - Controlled Substances Registration
    DEA Diversion Control Division

    OR Physician Assistant In The State of Delaware
    OR PA- CSR In State of Delaware
  • Experience:
    Required: 10 years minimum of progressive experience relevant to Clinical Practice and 5-10 years of progressive leadership / management experience. Previous involvement in projects, committees, quality improvement initiatives.
