Description:
The Senior Account Executive is one of the primary business contacts for Clients and is responsible for possessing and applying knowledge of industry trends and related regulations while servicing and marketing complex Clients' accounts innovatively and efficiently. This position shall also coordinate Lockton resources and develop and maintain favorable internal and external relationships, with the end goal of providing the highest level of customer service by meeting or exceeding industry standards.
Position responsibilities
Understand and perform marketing and account services to provide the broadest and most competitive quality product for Lockton clients
Informed of the client's overall business, operations, and risk management needs; anticipate when and how to respond
Advanced knowledge of insurance industry developments and all products available in the insurance marketplace
Develop and maintain dependable working relationships with carriers and other providers
Manage marketing strategies and selection for complex new and renewal business and maintain communication with the account team during the entire marketing process to protect current business and secure new business
Build and maintain effective relationships with clients to provide the best possible service on a timely basis. Demonstrate the ability to instill confidence and comfort with the client
Coordinate the renewal of current client business:
o provide a renewal notice to Producer and set up renewal meeting 120 days prior;
o complete exposure checklist;
o create and update coverage specifications;
o deliver submission to markets;
o review quotes and prepare proposal;
o arrange and perform renewal presentation to the client;
o bind coverage with underwriters before expiration;
o make instructions for renewal to the company;
o process renewal account with the assistance of the Account Administrator and Account Manager;
o review work prepared by the Account Administrator and Account Manager;
o prepare summaries, complete final policy checks, close items to discuss in proposal mailing, or deliver policies to client
Undertake responsibility for new business as directed
Respond to and fulfill the requirements generated by the Renewal Assistance Program (RAP) report; update the RAP Report when a task is completed
Work with Accounting to resolve accounting criticisms
Aid the Account Administrator on audits
Participate with Producer in the decision-making process on client credit balances over 90 days
May assist collection supervisor and Producer in collection efforts
Accountable for the development, implementation, and monitoring of client service plans
Responsible for the preparation and delivery of stewardship reports
Oversee, direct, plan, and schedule the work of others, as required. May train and give technical supervision to assigned associates. Has ultimate responsibility for the accuracy of work processed by the Account Administrator, Account Manager, and others
Process policy endorsements with the assistance of the Account Administrator and Account Manager
Perform tasks not assigned to the Account Administrator or Account Manager
Arrange for loss run schedules for clients, when appropriate
Prepare written correspondence, reports, and analyses, as needed
Analyze situations, identify problems, recommend solutions, and evaluate outcomes
Respond promptly to the requests and needs of clients and Lockton associates
Make a positive contribution to customer satisfaction and continuously strive to improve service to the customer
Motivate, instruct, and promote teamwork and associate development
Keep abreast of market conditions and new products
Make decisions in compliance with established Lockton standards of quality performance and service
Understand when to proceed alone and when to involve the Producer or others
Interface with top management of other businesses, representing Lockton in the highest professional manner
Accumulate required continuing education credits to maintain a current insurance license
Attend position-related seminars/classes, carrier functions, and social events as required
Perform other work-related duties as assigned
Position qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field and/or years of experience equivalent
Typically, more than ten years of Client services experience is required
Minimum of seven years of working knowledge of commercial property and casualty coverages and services required
At least five years of advanced/Account Executive level experience marketing and servicing the insurance needs of commercial accounts required
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint)
Demonstrates professional, tactful negotiation and persuasion skills to achieve objectives.
Demonstrates strong working knowledge and experience within the brokerage industry
Understands industry trends and governmental regulations
Ability to attend industry training sessions company as required
Strong attention to detail required
Readiness to expand knowledge and effectiveness in the insurance industry by successful completion of extended insurance education beyond continuing education requirements as needed
Organizational and time management skills to prioritize heavy workloads to meet time-sensitive deadlines.
Ability to comply with all company policies and procedures, proactively protecting the confidentiality of client and company information
Must have strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills to interact with clients, project team members, and associates at all levels of responsibility, representing Lockton in the highest professional manor
Ability to travel by automobile and aircraft and be away from home more than one day and night
Legally able to work in the United States
This position may be eligible for annual discretionary bonus consideration.
