OVERVIEW
As a Legal Talent team, we serve as trusted advisors to Cravath's population of attorneys, partnering with senior leadership on onboarding and training planning, professional development, operational management and strategic initiatives. We are actively recruiting for a Legal Talent Manager who will be responsible for collaborating directly with Firm leadership, partners and the Legal Talent team to assess and refine policies, procedures and practices related to changes in attorney employment statuses. Additionally, this role will work directly with attorneys at all levels to facilitate logistical elements of these changes, which include intraoffice transfers, leaves of absence, secondments to clients, transitions to the Firm's part-time program, as well as the promotion and departure process. Given the nature of the work, this role requires impeccable judgment, the ability to multitask with incredible attention to detail, as well as strong collaboration and problem-solving skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES
QUALIFICATIONS
This position is located in our New York office, and currently has a hybrid work schedule, but that is subject to change. The estimated salary range for this position is $140,000 to $160,000. The actual salary offered will be based on a wide range of factors, including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and where applicable, licensure or certification obtained. Market and Firm factors are also considered. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serves as primary point of contact for all New York/London/D.C. transfer logistics and related policies;
- Oversees the updates and circulation of all internal tracking communication between a variety of key departments;
- Works in close coordination with the Benefits department to support lawyers applying for disability leave;
- Collaborates directly with partners to facilitate secondment arrangements to clients and peer firms;
- Oversees the legal staff part-time program, working closely with the Managing Partners;
- Manages the team's tasks related to logistics for attorneys transitioning to alternative work arrangements;
- Oversees promotions to non-partner titles and all related processes;
- Manages junior team members on partner and legal staff departure procedures, including retirements;
- Collaborates closely with team members to help oversee the Foreign Associate Program, including liaising directly with Foreign Associates and updating and circulating relevant materials to leadership, as well as liaising with internal Immigration Counsel on Foreign Associate visa needs;
- Works closely with members of Firmwide Legal Talent team on various associate matters and special projects; and
- Performs other duties, as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree and at least 5-7 years of legal talent or related experience in a service industry firm, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory level position;
- Customer service mindset and ability to partner successfully with attorneys at all levels;
- High social and emotional intelligence, with experience leading and mentoring team members and cultivating strong relationships;
- Excellent organization and communication skills, in addition to superior judgment;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, as well as the ability to learn and use legal talent and recruiting applications built internally;
- Strong problem solving skills and ability to work well under pressure and coordinate several activities at one time;
- Ability to deal discreetly with confidential information; and
- Ability to work additional hours, including business-related travel, as needed.
