We're looking for an entrepreneurial, creative, Principal Tech Business Development manager to help us build a network of experts who can help AI evolve on a wide array of topics, everything ranging from software engineering to creative writing. The role will require the facilitation of new partnerships across academia and industry, as well as helping to influence the invention of new approaches to identify and manage contributors. This is an opportunity to drive an exciting new business, move fast, grow quickly, and work on the evolution of AI.

The right person will manage the new business from end-to-end, including understanding market dynamics, evaluating new partnership opportunities, conducting partner outreach, negotiating term sheets and agreements and driving to execution. You are a role model for best practices for incubating new partnerships, diving deep into partners' expertise, and improving partner performance. Your success will require close collaboration with internal cross-functional teams including Product and Tech on new product innovation designed to help experts unlock higher quality contributions. You demonstrate the ability to think strategically about issues, identify trends and effectively influence internal stakeholders such as Finance and Legal by earning trust and being right a lot.

The right candidate will be a strategic and results-driven business development leader with a proven track record developing complex partnerships. You possess exceptional relationship-building skills, program management skills, and a willingness to try new ideas quickly.

Key job responsibilities
Close high impact partnerships driving the creation of high-quality inputs from expert contributors across academia and industry.
Build a portfolio of strategic partnerships to source contributors
Ability to represent Amazon to C-Suite leaders at partner companies
Deep on technical business models and product integrations
Work cross-functionally across product, tech, sales, legal and finance to drive initiatives and programs
Drive innovation to address opportunities for enhanced partner growth at scale
Own robust goals for cost, quality, product adoption and strategic actions
Lead with an analytical approach to business development, leveraging data to drive decisions

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 10+ years of professional or military experience

- Experience thinking and working creatively to develop unique joint value propositions and product strategy within a partner ecosystem

- Bachelor's degree

- Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level

- Work cross-functionally across product, tech, sales, legal and finance to drive initiatives and programs

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience as a founder or executive focused on related segments, or as a practice leader or business unit owner

- MBA

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $158,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $262,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
