Primary Focus: The Planner/Scheduler III is responsible for developing, detailing, expanding, and maintaining project schedules for large, complex projects with values of $50MM or more, spanning multiple years. These projects often involve regulatory complexities and intricate execution plans. The Planner/Scheduler III will collaborate with project stakeholders to ensure schedules are accurate, on track, and aligned with project goals, using specialized expertise in schedule logic and sequence.

The Planner/Scheduler III will collaborate with project stakeholders to ensure schedules are accurate, on track, and aligned with project goals, using specialized expertise in schedule logic and sequence.
Specific Accountabilities:
- Scheduling Development: Adhere to enterprise scheduling standards for the creation and implementation of project schedules. Ensure that standards like Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) are kept current and accurately reflect project requirements.
- Schedule Updates: Regularly update and revise baseline and forecast schedules as projects progress. This includes integrating progress data, incorporating changes into the baseline, and adjusting forecast dates with input from project stakeholders.
- Information Gathering: Work closely with project teams to gather information needed to manage schedules effectively. This includes budget-loading schedule activities to establish performance baselines and adhering to earned value reporting rules.
- Schedule Performance Analysis: Interpret schedule performance, identify risks, trends, and analyze the impacts of schedule updates. Communicate these findings to the Project Manager, ensuring that resource requirements are integrated into the schedule and managed throughout the project lifecycle.
- Schedule Variance Management: Monitor, report, and manage schedule performance variances, ensuring accurate reporting and providing insight into project progress and potential delays.
- Cost-Schedule Integration: Collaborate with the Project Cost Controller to ensure accurate integration of cost and schedule data, maintaining alignment between the two.
- Technical Advice: Provide technical guidance on scheduling, planning, and logistics. Develop "what-if" scenarios to assess schedule options, critical path elements, and present solutions to the project team.
- Project Coordination: Represent the scheduling department in coordinating internal project activities and external interactions with stakeholders such as customers, partners, and consultants.
- Documentation Support: Offer technical and business advice on preparing and disposing of project completion documents, including reports, schedules, and updates.
Scope:
- The role's impact is typically confined to the assigned project(s). The Planner/Scheduler III will collaborate with project teams and engage with external stakeholders as required.
- Recommendations and reports are subject to review for accuracy by the Supervisor of Project Controls.
Working Conditions:
- Primarily office-based environment with occasional travel required for fieldwork or business trips.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required for fieldwork.
- Timely reporting and data submission are essential, and occasional field visits may be needed.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Education: Technical college diploma or university degree in a related field.
- Experience: At least 7 years of experience, or a combination of education and experience, in project scheduling.
- Industry Experience: Minimum of 2 years in planning/scheduling for midstream oil and gas projects, preferably in the facilities sector.
- Software Proficiency: Expertise in Primavera P6.
- Project Experience: Proven experience managing multi-million-dollar projects with complex scheduling needs.
- Specialized Expertise: Strong project planning and scheduling expertise, with the ability to independently manage schedules and logistics.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical data to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Decision Making: Capable of making decisions within established guidelines, managing priorities effectively, and resolving issues in a fast-paced environment.
- Earned Value Management: Experience with earned value analysis and reporting, ensuring accurate measurement of project progress.
- Prioritization: Ability to manage competing priorities and tasks, while maintaining schedule integrity and project alignment.
