Eaton's ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Model Based Design Engineer.
This role is based at Eaton's Thomas A. Edison Technical Center in Franksville, WI, and offers a hybrid work schedule of three days in office/two days remote. Relocation from within the U.S. is provided!
The expected annual salary range for this role is $74,250 - $108,900 a year.

What you'll do:
Eaton is seeking a Model-Based Design (MBD) Engineer who will play a pivotal role in shaping the products that support the electric grid's future. This role is crucial in harnessing high-tech embedded control platforms to bring to life the protection and control requirements necessary for the grid's evolution.

Champion model-based projects and programs:
Engage with diverse hardware, software, firmware, and FPGA components to develop cutting-edge embedded controls and features for the Power Reliability and Power Delivery and Regulation Divisions.
Innovate embedded control MBD systems:
Collaborate with senior MBD engineers, application subject matter experts, and architects across firmware, software, and hardware.
Leverage debugging and simulation tools to streamline design iterations and optimize performance.
Ensure excellence in system performance:
Assess system-level requirements and control algorithms to guarantee product functionality and robustness.
Contribute to defining and enhancing embedded controls MBD standards and processes.
Be a beacon of MBD knowledge:
Explain basic MBD concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.'
Continuously learn and seek opportunities to become an MBD Subject-Matter Expert (SME).
Drive collaborative innovation:
Work with cross-functional teams to develop system requirements, design plans, and execute projects, achieving sprint and project goals.
Promote development efficiency:
Identify opportunities for re-use and improvement by sharing architectures, models, and simulation/testing methods with future projects and development teams.
Qualifications:
Basic (Required) Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited institution.
Must be able to work in the US without company sponsorship now and in the future.
Preferred Qualifications:
Basic coding experience.
Familiarity with control systems / theory.
Skills:

Ability to travel up to 20%.
Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills in an academic or professional setting.
Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt quickly in an academic or professional setting.
Effectively collaborate with a global multi-discipline engineering teams to deliver products and features in the Controls and Relays Group.
Engage with external and internal customers, such as Marketing, Service, Operations, and other engineering teams throughout the product development life cycle.
