PURPOSE
Responsible for the planning, development, implementation, and coordination of health, safety, environmental, security systems and quality designed to eliminate non-conformance and ensure continual improvement for all business units within BWC Terminals (the "Company"). Provides leadership and coaching to the management group for the resolution of HSEQ issues critical to the success of the business units. Partners with the various business units to align and develop HSEQ initiatives with the strategic direction of the businesses.

This position involves sitting for approximately 90% of the workday. Occasionally the employee is required to kneel, bend, push, pull, lift, or twist. Occasionally the employee is required to lift or exert force of up to 10 pounds. Intermittently, the employee is required to lift or exert force of up to 25 pounds. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Oversee the implementation of all HSEQ department functions, including the implementation of those policies, procedures, and methods designed to drive the HSEQ culture throughout the entire company.
- In concert with the VP of Operations develop, lead, and enforce a collaborative environment and relationship between the HSEQ and operations team to achieve the AIP and OIP annual goals
- Provide oversight of the organizations HSEQ's consultant and contractor engagement / projects
- Develop and implement audit criteria and procedures, conduct audits, and report findings and actions.
- Work collaboratively with others in a professional and appropriate demeanor to develop solutions and assist with resolving issues to satisfy compliance issues and create effective solutions.
- Stay abreast of technology and stay current with new regulations and trends.
- Provide overall management and technical direction and coordination for all department personnel. Manage the recruitment, retention, and performance of personnel. Ensure employees are in compliance with all the Company policies and procedures as well as the appropriate external regulatory requirements.
- Develop and implement a HSEQ technical/leadership development program to ensure the growth of all HSEQ employees
- Maintain a high level of expertise and understanding of the regulatory environment, proposed rules and regulatory changes and develop the strategic plans and programs to mitigate regulatory unfavorable impacts and or seize upon regulatory opportunities.
- Identify and approve HSEQ project plans, schedules, activities, and milestones.
- Manage HSEQ budget. Supervise and approve expense budgets and expense reports.
- Liaise with operations regional managers, controller, brokers, and adjusters concerning worker's compensation, property and product damage insurance matters.
- Serve on committees and boards as appropriate.
- Maintain good working relationships across the organization while being professional and positive.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Participate in relevant and mandatory training.
- Take the initiative to identify problems, use judgment to find appropriate solutions and follow through on resolving issues in a timely manner.

- B.S. Degree in Business Administration, Environmental Safety, Industrial Hygiene/Safety Management or related Natural or Health Science degree preferred.
- Minimum ten years' experience in terminal, chemical or manufacturing/blending industry.
- Knowledge of and experience in the storage industry along with HSEQ body of knowledge.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents, general business and professional journals, governmental regulations, financial reports, and legal documents
- Ability to apply applicable policies, procedures, and laws/regulations to operations to find creative and effective solutions.
- Ability to effectively present information, communicate with, influence, and respond to questions and complaints from co-workers, management, and customers.
- Ability to travel up to 50% as needed.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software.
- Knowledge of pertinent laws, codes, and regulations.
- Ability to write reports/documents.
- Work effectively with a diverse group of individuals and maintain effective working relationships with staff and customers.
- Ability and experience in managing staff.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently with general direction from supervisor.
