Bayhealth Medical Center is Central and Southern Delaware's healthcare leader with hospitals in Dover and Milford, as well as stand-alone Emergency Department in Smyrna and a hybrid Emergency Department and Urgent Care in Milton. SALARY RANGE: 66,622.40 - 103,251.20YEARLY
General Summary:
Prepares financial statements for related companies. Responsible for preparing Development Corporation annual budget. Responsible for recording and tracking billing information. Supervises Related Corporation Specialist and prepares annual evaluation. Prepares 990 return and all annual tax filings for all entities. Research and document regulatory tax changes and monitor compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
Responsibilities:
1. Review all tax returns (990's & 1120's) with Controller/CFO and file by deadline.
2. Record Journal entries and review reports and for accuracy and consistency, document findings.
3. Prepare monthly financial statements for affiliates.
4. Prepare budgets for related corporations two months prior to year end and finalized before annual Board meeting.
5. All benefit returns (5500's) must be filed accurately and on time. Schedules are prepared according to auditors PBC schedule.
6. Supervise Related Corporations Specialist and complete annual evaluation. Review staff function as a whole and assure completed tasks for Related Corporations are accurate and timely.
7. Research and document proper GAAP procedures for Bayhealth entities as needed per requested deadline.
8. Reconcile assigned accounts and book necessary correcting journal entries each month.
9. Remain current on regulatory tax issues, FASB and AICPA Form 990 and other not for profit issues.
10. All other duties as assigned within the scope and range of job responsibilities

Required Education, Credential(s) and Experience:
- Education: Bachelor Degree
; Accounting
; - Credential(s): None Required
; - Experience: Required: Three years accounting experience in a healthcare setting filing tax returns and preparing financial statements. Preferred: Five years general accounting experience.Experience with hospital accounting and tax preparation experience in both for-profit and not-for-profit settings.
