Finance and Accounting Leader (Remote)

POSITION: Finance & Accounting Leader
LOCATION: Remote, USA-based

Responsibilities:

Own critical finance and accounting activities, and collaborate across teams to improve operations as the business grows. Act as trusted partner to multiple stakeholders, leveraging skills and intellectual curiosity to make meaningful contributions to the company's success.

• Provide support for budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Deliver actionable insights to stakeholders through financial analytics.
• Create short and long range financial models to support the strategic financial direction of the company
• Provide analysis and support additional funding rounds, providing outside investors the opportunity to invest cash in the fast-growing company
• Advise on and create procedures to "stand up" corporate functions like sales tax reporting and revenue recognition
• Manage the month-end close process, including preparation of general journal entries, account reconciliations, and monthly analytics. Oversee month-end accrual processes for all functional areas, ensuring
  accuracy and timeliness.
• Own specific close processes and implement accounting controls to achieve a GAAP-compliant close. Research and apply revenue accounting principles to complex
  transactions. Ensure adherence to accounting standards and policies across the organization.
• Collaborate with stakeholders in Sales, Marketing, Engineering, and other areas to provide accounting and finance support. Partner with teams to implement and maintain scalable processes, policies, and controls.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing key information and documentation. Maintain relationships with third-party payroll providers and public accounting firms.
• Continuously improve finance and accounting processes to support scalability as the company grows. Assist with ERP and other system implementations to enhance operational efficiency.
• Lead or participate in ad hoc projects to support the evolving needs of the business.

Qualifications:

• 8+ years of finance/accounting experience within fast-growing organizations
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience gained form start-up companies is required
• Previous experience in a SaaS company is highly preferred.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., PivotTables, VLOOKUPs).
• Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
• Ability to work across different time zones with team members in various locations.
• Demonstrated ability to tackle complex problems with curiosity and analytical rigor.
• Precision and thoroughness in financial processes and reporting.
• Commitment to ethical standards and acting as a trusted steward of financial information.
• Enthusiasm for taking on increasing responsibility as the business evolves.
• Ability to work effectively across teams and independently.
