Seattle Colleges District Office is looking to hire an Investigator in their Compliance Department.
Salary Range for this position is $69,312 to $91,044 annually (depending on experience).

Position Summary
Under the supervision of the Director of Compliance the Investigator will be responsible for comprehensive investigation into a wide range of civil rights, human rights, and misconduct claims to ensure institutional compliance. The investigator will conduct thorough investigations of cases, including high-profile cases, and provide detailed narrative investigation reports.
This position is typically scheduled to work Monday through Friday 8:00AM to 4:30 PM. The schedule may vary depending on program needs. May be required to work evenings and weekends as needed.
This position is Classified WFSE represented.

What you will be working on:
- Under the direction of the Director of Compliance and the Title IX/EEO Coordinator, initiate, plan, and execute complex investigations pursuant to Human Rights Ordinance, equal employment opportunity (EEO) law, Title VII, Title IX, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), CLERY Act, FERPA, VAWA, and employee and student conduct claims.
- Identify, locate, and interview witnesses across diverse settings, evaluating credibility and securing engagement.
- Conduct confidential and impartial interviews.
- Collects, organizes, tracks, and analyzes written and/or electronic statements, emails, and other types of communication that are relevant to evaluating complaint allegations.
- Drafts investigation fact-finding reports that are concise, reader-friendly, and include detail of complaint allegations, scope of investigation, witnesses interviewed, written/electronic evidence obtained, relevant policies and procedures, findings of fact, and factual conclusions upon the conclusion of an investigation.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in areas such as human rights, equal employment opportunity (EEO), Title VII, Title IX, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), CLERY Act, FERPA, VAWA, and employee and student conduct.
- Assists the Director of Compliance and Title IX Coordinators with the College District's Title IX compliance efforts, including the development, implementation, and monitoring of appropriate disclosures, policies, procedures, and practices designed to comply with federal and state legislation and regulations.
- Participates in managing a comprehensive case management system that includes each reported claim involving any form of discrimination, harassment, sexual misconduct, sexual harassment, domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking.
- Works collaboratively and effectively with the Title IX/EEO Coordinator, the Human Resources department, and other departments and community resources to assist with the identification and implementation of supportive measures and implementation of District policies.
- Meets with the Director of Compliance and Title IX/EEO Coordinator to determine how complaints should be addressed and assess the scope of any investigation.
- Support the collection and preparation of the annual statistical report on the number, nature, and disposition of complaints, identifying patterns and making recommendations.
- Maintains record-keeping procedures, conducts compliance reviews, and prepares reports and plans as required, including statistical reports and summaries for various departments regarding caseloads, types of conduct cases, and outcomes.

What you bring as a candidate: (Any Equivalent Combination of Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education and Experience)
- 3 or more years of experience in conducting workplace investigations with the authority to plan and conduct complex investigations.
- 2 or more years of experience in working with Human Resources or equivalent
- Demonstrated exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to conduct sensitive and impartial investigations and maintain confidentiality.
- Demonstrated commitment to the highest ethical and professional standards, high quality and standard of work, and discretion.
- Demonstrated knowledge of nondiscrimination laws and compliance regulations, including but not limited to: Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) amendments to the Clery Act, FERPA, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Americans with Disabilities Act (as amended), Title VI and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and the Age Discrimination Act of 1975.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Successful candidates will possess excellent analytical skills and the ability to independently research issues and analyze relevant policies, rules, procedures, and guidelines.
- Conflict resolution and mediation experience is valued.
- Public sector human resources and/or employee relations experience are valued.
