Senior Product Definition Engineer - Mechanical Design (Aerospace)
East Hartford, CT or Jupiter, FL (Onsite)

Job Summary:
We are looking for a Senior Product Definition Engineer with a strong foundation in mechanical design and drafting to join our high-performing aerospace team. In this role, you'll be a key contributor to the design of advanced mechanical components and systems, ensuring precision, quality, and innovation in every deliverable.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience, be proficient in NX (version 10 or higher), and bring valuable experience in turbomachinery-particularly gas turbines and steam turbines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Independently design and draft standard mechanical components with minimal supervision.
  • Generate accurate 3D models and engineering drawings using NX and manage documentation through Teamcenter.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical designs across engineering disciplines.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide technical input to support key project milestones.
  • Apply sound knowledge of manufacturing processes, tolerance stack-ups, and mechanical fit to ensure functional, manufacturable designs.
  • Interpret and apply GD&T principles in accordance with industry standards.
  • Leverage prior experience in turbomachinery (gas/steam turbines) to contribute to complex, high-performance design solutions.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree (BE/B.Tech.) in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical design and drafting.
  • Advanced proficiency with Siemens NX (v10 and above) and familiarity with PLM systems, particularly Teamcenter.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical manufacturing processes, engineering standards, and tolerance analysis.
  • Prior experience in the aerospace industry; exposure to Pratt & Whitney (PW) projects is a strong plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • A proactive, fast learner who can adapt to evolving project demands and work both independently and collaboratively.
