SALARY RANGE: 39.67 - 64.84HOURLY

General Summary:

Under the direction of the Manager, supervises the daily activities for the department and serves as a resource person for problem solving. Primary duties include training, teaching communication, and quality control. Operates equipment to produce diagnostic images of anatomy requested by the referring physician.

Responsibilities:

1. Performing Procedures: Utilization of job related information, technical skills and procedures, including continuous quality improvement. Performs exams in accordance with standard procedures and protocols.a) Utilize appropriate patient safety screening/consent forms to ensure all safety precautions have been addressed prior to procedure. b) Informs staff of any changes in exam protocols per radiologist's recommendations.
2. Personnel / Staffinga) Supervise assigned staff during daily operations.b) Perform annual performance evaluations for assigned staff , interview and recommend for hire, c) Execute performance improvement when necessary, or recommend for termination when appropriate.d) Ensure Technologists have access to the policies and are knowledgeable of all policies and procedures that are pertinent to their job duties. e) Provide adequate staffing for 24 hours a day 7 days a week to handle the workload for the appropriate shift /time.f) Post staff work schedules in the department one week prior to the scheduled work assignment and call schedules sent to the hospital switchboard before the first of every month.g) Understand payroll practices, to accurately approve and load time for assigned employees in EmpCenter to ensure that each staff member is paid according to the correct number of hours worked per pay period. h) Use EmpCenter to track attendance issues for employees and document variances per policies.i) Laser Vault reports to be reviewed with management to monitor the monthly actual vs. budgeted hours.
3. Quality: To monitor for technical Quality for assigned section when performing their jobs by monthly QA's from the radiologists, PACS and management. a) QA's will not exceed 2% of their workload. b) Once QA's are reviewed by techs, the leads will follow up with necessary education or disciplinary action per established QA policy. c) Report results in monthly PI (Process Improvement) report.
4. Equipment:a) Monitor all equipment to ensure in working condition 98% of the time. b) Report problems to Clinical Engineering to ensure that equipment is repaired and operational for scheduled and emergent cases. Inform management of reported problems.c) Ensure that the results of the area equipment daily JC checks are accurately checked and correctly recorded daily, meeting any State or Federal guidelines.
5. All other duties as assigned within the scope and range of job responsibilities

Required Education, Credential(s) and Experience:

  • Education: Certificate Program Ultrasound
  • Credential(s): Basic Life Support
  • Experience: Required: Two years Ultrasound experience

Preferred Education, Credential(s) and Experience:

  • Education:
  • Credential(s): Registered Vascular Technologist
  • Experience: Preferred: Supervisory experience
