As a member of the national ERI group, you will have the opportunity to apply your training and experience to complex projects. You will be challenged to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and maintain a very high level of quality. You would gain knowledge through the mentorship and training program available, your professional development will be supported.
Reporting to the Project Controls Manager, the Lead Estimator will support the Project Manager in the project estimate.
A day in the life :
As a WSP Lead Estimator, you would be expected to:
Evaluate, adjust, or create estimating template;
Creates detailed, market related owner's cost estimate for scope change, work delays, etc. for assigned projects;
Reviews Change Order Requests and determines material requirements, processing, and job routing;
Leads client or third-party reconciliations;
Leads client and contractor negotiations to resolve contract changes and claims;
Develops construction cost estimates and prepares basis of estimate as required by the Estimating Lead in accordance with the program requirements;
Ensures all estimates are accurate and includes allowance for all risk factors;
Reviews quantity surveys for all types of construction systems and materials;
Seeks additional useful data from various sources;
Partake in reviews designs and specifications for cost-effectiveness and suggests appropriate alternatives;
Mentors, trains, and support less experienced estimators.
We'd love to hear from you if you have :
15+ years of relevant experience in Project Estimating;
Functional / Professional (French) is highly recommended due to the nation-wide projects involving French inputs;
Previous relevant experience in the civil engineering industry is an asset;
Adaptability and flexibility including the ability to manage deadline pressure, ambiguity, and change;
Ability to multi-task, work on several projects or tasks at once, manage time, organize, and set priorities;
Strong interpersonal skills, as the role requires continuous interaction with team members;
Strong communications skills, both written and verbal, including report writing, editing, and proofreading abilities;
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite and Outlook. Highly advanced Microsoft Excel skills;
Strong analytical and quantitative skills are a must;
Exceptional interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills;
Knowledge of ACCE (formally known as K-Base) and/or InEight Estimate (formally known as HardDollars) and Sharepoint is an asset.
