Duties:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Manage and direct pharmacist, technician, and clerk daily workflow to efficiently provide pharmacy services and medications. Responsible for scheduling staff to efficiently meet operational needs. Responsible for staff mentorship, improvement plans, and performance evaluations. Establish staff training, duties, performance expectations, and competency programs. Assist with creation and attainment of department goals that support organizational goals and strategic plan. Identify opportunities, priorities, exercises initiative and independent judgment to provide pharmaceutical services. Supervise compounding and preparation of sterile and non-sterile hazardous and non-hazardous products. Supervise preparation, packaging, labeling, handling and storage to maintain product sterility and stability. Oversight for pharmacy claims process to receive payment for medications and pharmacy services. Coordinate with Finance and Accounting to reconcile claims. Responsible for maintaining pharmacy cleanliness and organization. Responsible for equipment maintained, calibration, and functionality. Create and supervise ordering, tracking, receiving, and storing medication and supply policies and procedures. Oversee daily reconciliation of medications/ supplies orders versus received, resolution of issues, and communication. Standardize and implement policies and procedures to meet federal/ state regulations and accreditation standards. Maintain medication security when handling non-control and control medications to prevent loss and/ or diversion. Establish procedures to maintain adequate inventory, manage drug shortages, process expired, recall and quarantined medications. Implement procedures to minimize return to stock and partial fills. Assess medication errors to improve processes. Create of programs, order sets, protocols and restrictions to minimize waste and maximize efficiency. Demonstrate fiscal responsibility. Decrease expenses/waste and increase revenue through activities such as inventory control, provider education, MUE, formulary management, and quality improvement efforts. Develop, implement and monitor quality improvement programs (CQI). Participate and lead pharmacy and hospital committees. Completes pharmacy and organizational projects. Provide education (lectures, presentations, in-service) for community and hospital staff. Identify and promptly submit tickets for equipment and system issues. Communicate issue(s

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science degree and/or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited school of Pharmacy PharmD preferred; 1-year residency (PGY1) preferred Three (3) years of pharmacist experience; Minimum two (2) years in hospital practice preferred BLS certification within 90 days of hire Current and active, unrestricted Pharmacist license required; Arizona state license preferred Licensed to administer immunizations, vaccines, and emergency medications, preferred
