Wilson Elseriscurrently seeking aMedical Malpractice Associate Attorneyto join ourWashington D.C.office.This is an excellent opportunity for attorneys with 2-8 years of litigation experience, to grow in their careers with exposure to a wide variety of prominent national clients and by taking on substantial litigation responsibilities. Working directly with in-house counsel, the attorney in this role will have the exciting opportunity to interact directly with sophisticated clients that we represent, as well as with teams of our own talented, experienced professionals.

Qualifications

  • JD from an accredited law school
  • Must be admitted to practice in Washington D.C. or immediately eligible for admission by reciprocity, additional admission in Virginia strongly preferred
  • 2+ years of defense litigation experience
  • Experience in Medical Malpractice, Professional Liability cases beneficial
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Legal project management experience is helpful

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the defense of professional liability claims including medical and legal malpractice, as well as general litigation matters
  • Work closely with other attorneys, team members, and Partners on legal projects
  • Regularly handle court appearances and depositions
  • Communicate with clients and provide status reports
  • Opportunity to handle significant caseload of COVID lawsuits

A variety of factors are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to experience, education, licensure and/or certifications, geographic location, market demands, other business and organizational needs, and other factors permitted by law. This position is also eligible for discretionary bonuses. Final salary wages offered may be outside of this range based on other reasons and individual circumstances.This position is considered full-time and therefore qualifies for benefits including 401(k) retirement savings plan, medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

Pay Range

$125,000-$175,000USD
