Overview
Purpose Statement/Position Summary:
The Associate Director of Cloud and Hybrid Infrastructure Services is responsible for the strategic planning, development, and oversight of the hospital's comprehensive cloud and hybrid infrastructure environment. This role leads the design, implementation, and management of integrated cloud services and on-premises infrastructure solutions that support the organization's digital transformation initiatives. The Associate Director will support governance frameworks for cloud adoption, optimize cloud resource utilization, and ensure seamless integration between cloud platforms and existing systems. This position requires a forward-thinking leader who can drive innovation in cloud technologies while maintaining robust, secure, and cost-effective infrastructure operations that align with organizational goals.
This role will develop and implement a comprehensive cloud strategy that leverages the full potential of public, private, and hybrid cloud models to enhance operational agility, scalability, and efficiency while ensuring business continuity and security across all infrastructure components.
Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience:
Required: 8 years of progressive experience in cloud and infrastructure management, with significant expertise in hybrid cloud environments integrating on-premises infrastructure with cloud platforms. Demonstrated experience leading cloud transformation initiatives and optimizing infrastructure operations in healthcare settings.
Advanced knowledge of major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, OCI) including architecture, services, networking, and security features. Expertise in infrastructure components including compute, storage, virtualization, and containerization technologies. Strong understanding of infrastructure as code approaches (such as Terraform) and automation frameworks. Experience implementing robust disaster recovery and business continuity solutions leveraging cloud technologies.
Proven ability to develop and execute comprehensive cloud strategies aligned with organizational objectives. Demonstrated experience establishing cloud governance frameworks, migration methodologies, and security protocols. Strong knowledge of cloud cost optimization techniques and resource management approaches. Experience integrating cloud services with existing systems and maintaining operational continuity during transitions.
Excellent leadership capabilities with experience building and mentoring high-performing technical teams. Exceptional communication skills with ability to translate complex technical concepts for diverse audiences. Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities with demonstrated capacity to make sound decisions under pressure. Ability to build effective relationships across departments and influence decision-making at executive levels.
Strong knowledge of healthcare compliance requirements (HIPAA, HITRUST) and experience implementing security controls in cloud environments. Experience managing vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, and overseeing service agreements. Demonstrated ability to develop and manage operational and capital budgets for technology services.
Proven experience implementing comprehensive monitoring solutions across hybrid environments and leveraging analytics for performance optimization. Ability to establish metrics and dashboards to monitor infrastructure performance, utilization, and cost trends. Experience creating and maintaining detailed documentation for cloud architecture, configurations, and operational procedures.
Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with rapidly evolving cloud technologies. Forward-thinking approach with ability to identify and implement innovative solutions that drive business value. Experience leading organizational change with minimal disruption and ability to manage multiple priorities in high-pressure situations.
Education/Licensure/Certification:
Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field;
Preferred: Master's degree preferred.
Professional certifications in relevant cloud platforms (AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Architect) and infrastructure technologies.
ITIL certification or extensive knowledge of ITIL frameworks for service management.
Pay Scale Information
USD $130,000.00 - USD $233,875.00

Final determination of a successful candidates starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to education and experience within the job or the industry. The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates that exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
