Customer Success Manager, Upstream Engineering
The Team:
Our Upstream Engineering Customer Success Team is responsible for delivering added value to customers through quality technical support and training across our application portfolio. Our technical expertise spans both reservoir and production engineering, and we support global customers working in both conventional and unconventional assets. We value collaboration, relationship building, continuous learning and technical expertise.
The Impact:
There are many challenges petroleum engineers face, and our Customer Success Managers connect customers with solutions. We use our problem-solving skills and industry data know-how to help customers resolve issues encountered, learn workflows, and explain how our applications work. We are subject matter experts and trusted partners for customers across asset types: conventional & unconventional, onshore, and offshore, across the development lifecycle, from reservoir to delivery point. We represent customers' needs and collaborate with Product, Sales, and Marketing colleagues to ensure those needs are met.

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $87,525-103,601. Final base salary for this role will be based on budget and the individual's geographical location as well as experience and qualifications for the role.
In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.

Responsibilities:
- Ability to demonstrate expertise in industry workflows & business practices
- Interact with customers via phone, email, video and live meetings to provide support and training on our Upstream Engineering products
- Troubleshoot customer issues to determine root cause and provide the quickest and best resolution to customers
- Create and deliver complex workflows in a straightforward and clear manner
- Develop an understanding of the users and be their 'voice' within the business by conveying customer feedback to the relevant stakeholders
- Continually improve product knowledge to ensure the best support can be offered to all customers
- Create workflow documentation and training content for our online learning platform
- Stay current on newly released features and new product offerings in our portfolio
What We're Looking For:
- Experienced (minimum 2+ years) in the E&P industry, focused on engineering. Formal education and/or combination of experience as an engineer or engineering / geo technician
- We will consider prior internships and relevant projects; a Bachelors Degree and some formal experience in an Engineering related role will be considered. A strong understanding of our value proposition and the industry that we support is essential
- Previous experience working with data and applications in the exploration and production industry is desirable. Previous experience working with S&P Global Engineering products is a bonus
- Proven track record delivering support or training in technical petroleum industry software
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Must be comfortable speaking in front of technical teams and groups and conduct training classes. Additional language skills are a bonus
- An aptitude for explaining technical concepts and teaching experience to varying skill levels
- Listening, understanding a customer's needs to properly qualify them and provide an appropriate solution
- Concise and effective troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
