We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Seats and Restraints Software Interface Engineer to join our dynamic Engineering team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for supporting the design and release of our seat and restraint systems, ensuring seamless software integration and robust performance. Key commodities include OCS and modules governing seat functions (DSM, PSM, PFSM, RCM, Heated seat module, MCS module, etc). You'll be a key player in driving quality improvements, incorporating new technologies, and collaborating with suppliers to deliver exceptional results. Responsibilities
What you'll do...
- Engineering Support: Support the Seats and Restraints design and release team through all engineering milestones, ensuring adherence to established processes and quality standards.
- Foundation Documents: Develop, maintain, and ensure the accuracy of foundation documents related to software interfaces, requirements, and specifications.
- Technology Integration: Drive the incorporation of new technologies into seat and restraint systems, evaluating feasibility, performance, and reliability.
- Supplier Collaboration: Develop and manage relationships with suppliers, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality components and software.
- Quality Improvement: Proactively identify and implement quality improvements throughout the design and manufacturing process. Champion automation of software and system quality measures at all stages - requirements, design and development, integration- leveraging tools and techniques like TDD, BDD, Jira, TestRail, Google test etc.
- Problem Solving: Provide rapid response and resolution to stop ships, stop builds, and plant quality issues, with a focus on eliminating Field Service Actions (FSAs).
- System Integration: Oversee the integration of software components within the seat and restraint systems, ensuring proper communication and functionality.
- Testing and Validation: Develop and execute test plans to validate software performance and ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards.
- Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation related to software interfaces, system architecture, and testing results.
Qualifications
You'll have...
Minimum Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in automotive software engineering, with a focus on embedded systems.
- Technical Skills:
- Experience with embedded software development and testing.
- Familiarity with automotive safety standards and regulations (e.g., FMVSS).
- Proficiency inASPICE, ISO 26262, SAE Standards
- Applied knowledge of Cybersecurity, OTA reflash, CMA and PARSED data analytics.
- Automotive domain experience in component-level system design and integration using automotive network technologies (LIN, CAN, Ethernet), networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, IPv4/6), in-vehicle embedded telematics technology, body & security electronic systems architecture.
- Knowledge of Autosar software stack, domain controller architecture, software defined architecture.
- Knowledge of communication protocols like MQTT, gRPC, SOME/IP.
- Knowledge of seat and restraint system functionality and design principles.
- Soft Skills:

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks.
