About The Position

The Business Performance Associate will support the Performance Management activities of Ameren Illinois.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Analyze various source systems and their data for the purpose of making recommendations in process changes to drive consistency and to improve future reporting and analysis.
  • Research, analyze, forecast, and report internal performance data.
  • Maintain Performance Management policy and procedure documents.
  • Coordinate benchmarking and research efforts.
  • Support the AIC monthly performance process.
  • Support the annual and monthly maintenance of the Performance Reporting System (PRS).
  • Assist with the annual strategic and business planning process.
  • Coordinate quarterly incentive scorecard reporting, including metric payout calculations and incentive compensation accruals, and respond to annual rate case data requests.
  • Research budget variances in actual expenditures versus budget for projects and department budgets, as needed. Runs reports to verify adjustments that are made or need to be made. May perform next level Business Performance Specialist duties as proficiency in the role is gained.
  • Produce and review internal monthly, quarterly, and annual financial and operational corporate reports; respond to ad-hoc report requests.


Qualifications - Business Performance Associate

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, Management, or related field from an accredited college or university required. One or more years' relevant professional level experience (e.g., accounting, budget preparation and statistical analysis) preferred.

Qualifications - Business Performance Specialist

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field from an accredited college or university required. Master's Degree or CPA/CMA preferred. Three or more years of relevant accounting experience (accounting, budget preparation, and statistical analysis) required without CPA certification. One or more years of relevant accounting experience (accounting, budget preparation, and statistical analysis) required with CPA certification.

Qualifications - Senior Business Performance Specialist

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field from an accredited college or university required. Five or more years of relevant accounting experience (accounting, budget preparation, and statistical analysis) required. Master's Degree or CPA/CMA/CFA preferred

In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:

Strong working knowledge of MS Excel required. Must be able to create spreadsheets and develop formula calculations. Ability to develop lookup tables, perform graphical analysis, and develop/interpret pivot tables preferred. Working knowledge of Ameren systems including EMPRV, API, Oracle eBusiness and TRIS preferred. Exposure to UIP, Oracle Business Intelligence and Power Plan also preferred. Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated, solve problems, make decisions and be proactive. The successful candidate must be a strong communicator that shows attention to details and works well in a team environment.

Ameren's selection process includes a series of interviews and may include candidate testing and/or an individual aptitude or skill-based assessment. Specific details will be provided to qualified candidates.

Compensation Range:
$59,100.00 - $133,900.00

* This pay range encompasses multiple levels of the role. Career level and compensation depends upon applicant's credentials.

At Ameren, base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package for employees. Our pay ranges are broad to allow for movement within our organization and to accommodate different skill sets and levels of expertise. We take into consideration a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, and internal equity when determining the base salary offered. Roles are eligible for additional rewards including annual incentive payments based on individual and company performance.
