In accordance with the established vision and values of the organization, and working with the medical staff and other Cardiovascular Program Coordinators, the Northern Health (NH) Coordinator, Cardiac Triage takes a leadership role in developing, implementing, evaluating, and coordinating a cardiovascular waitlist management system. The main responsibilities of the NH Cardiac Triage Coordinator are related to access and referral to cardiac intervention and/or cardiac surgery. The Coordinator works closely with Cardiac Services British Columbia (CSBC) and other Cardiovascular Program Coordinators at cardiac centres in the province to ensure efficient and equitable access to cardiac services for all Northern Health patients. The Coordinator, Cardiac Triage is a member of the NH Patient Transfer and Flow Office under the Emergency, Trauma and Transfer Services Program, working daily in collaboration with the NH Patient Transfer Lead, assisting with the facilitation of timely inter-facility transfers and repatriations for northern patients.
Starting salary will be approximately from $88,990 to $111,237 and will be based on education, training, experience, and salaries of similar positions.

Qualfications
Baccalaureate degree in Nursing;
Minimum five (5) year's recent related bed management, and emergency and/or critical care experience including experiencing coordinating inter-facility patient transfers;
Or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Current practicing membership with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
Skills and Abilities:
Computer skills with knowledge and expertise in Microsoft Office and medical electronic record applications/systems and other relevant software and/or database applications.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain effective working relationships with others internal and extern to the organization.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, family, the public, clinical staff and members of the inter-disciplinary team; skillful in customer relations.
Fosters an environment that values patient and family-centered care.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
Ability to create, monitor and analyze key performance indicators with continuous quality improvement skills.
Ability to plan, prioritize and carry out projects in a timely manner.
Ability to work effectively under pressure with changing priorities and deadlines; ability to resolve conflict
Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to operate and maintain competency in the applicable equipment such as central venous access devices, chest tubes, catheters, drains and oxygen delivery equipment.
Demonstrated skill in palliative symptom assessment and management.
Demonstrated skill in conducting goals of care conversations, understanding the care goals and what is most important to the patient.
Ability to operate related equipment including applicable software applications.
Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
