Overview:

Liliput Inc. is looking to add a talented, organized, and eager individual to our team as an Assistant Estimator. The Assistant Estimator supports the Estimator in generating accurate and timely estimates for assigned projects. The Associate Estimator stays informed about product, supply, and subcontractor prices, as well as the company's production capabilities, to ensure accurate estimates. They assist in preparing and presenting bids and sales presentations for bid-build projects/clients.

Responsibilities:
Estimation:

Assists in the estimating process and adheres to established standards.
Supports the team in understanding standards for estimating landscape plan sets, materials, labor, and margins.
Helps prepare estimates for bid-build landscape projects.
Reviews estimates prepared by the design sales team before presenting them to clients.
Ensures quality plan sets and estimates are delivered to the operations team.
Performs aspects of the bidding process, including material takeoffs, soliciting subcontractor quotes, material quotes, finalizing specialty material orders, and proposal generation.
Ensures thoroughness and accuracy of all estimates.
Collaborates with landscape architects/designers and construction managers to accurately price all aspects of construction.
Maintains communication with Design and Construction departments to ensure proposals are submitted on time and with accurate budgets.
Understands and can calculate installation of labor and material costs for various landscape construction tasks.
Sales & Client Service:
Demonstrates excellent customer service skills and meets with clients to discuss prospective landscape projects.
Assists in creating and presenting estimate proposals for landscape bid-build projects.
Supports the sales process for bid-build prospective clients, with or without the assistance of a senior manager.
Estimation Template/Software Management:
Helps manage and update the estimation template for landscape proposals.
Assists in updating costs annually and as needed in proposal templates.
Works with vendors to obtain, maintain, and update pricing/costs.

Skills:
Required:

Detail-oriented, thorough, and precise in planning and executing job responsibilities.
Ability to accurately read and interpret landscape project plan sets and details of varying levels of complexity.
Ability to creatively and professionally problem-solve individually and collectively.
Ability to organize and achieve multiple deadlines simultaneously and handle frequent interruptions.
Willingness to accept constructive feedback and apply necessary corrections in a timely manner.
Dependable and reliable.
Excellent communication skills, including written, oral, and listening skills.
Understanding of local best construction practices.
Valid Colorado Driver's License and Clean MVR.
Preferred Skills:
Bilingual, English and Spanish.
Bachelor's degree in a related construction program.
Proficiency in industry-specific bidding software.
Proficiency in AutoCAD.
Previous experience with high-end residential landscape construction is a plus.
Experience in construction, project management, or purchasing is a plus.

Experience:
1-3 years' minimum experience in landscape or construction estimating.
