Summary:
Responsible for the coordination and technical leadership of electronic hardware strategies and the electrical design and development of customer products.
Responsibilities:
Designs and documents electronic hardware for customer products and related electronics, with management direction, to meet both the customers' requirements and manufacturing requirements
Provides assistance to the Mechanical Design, PCB Design, Functional Test and ICT test for product, test and tooling development
Performs evaluation of quality measurements on electronic designs in accordance with a verification plan
Creates documentation related to an electronic design project
Contacts and works with hardware, software and equipment vendors
Follows project plan; Report project status to leadership
Assists in the coordination of electronic hardware engineering strategies for customers
Assists in project proposals and associated cost estimates
Participates in the development of advanced/new technologies
Participates in research and development for new design methods and tools
Assists with Design for Excellence (DFX) reviews and creates necessary documentation
Develops an understanding of DFX philosophy and promotes with customers
With management guidance, works with customers to understand requirements regarding product design
Communicates with customer technical personnel regarding technical issues
Works with Sustaining Engineering (product, process, test and quality) to develop products that leverage manufacturing and test processes
Communicates technical challenges and work with peers to create and implement solutions
Participates in continuous improvement activities with complete documentation, including a follow up review with the team in a presentation format

Provides assistance and interacts with Mechanical Design, PCB Design, Functional Test and In-Circuit Test for product, test and tooling development
Develops and follows project plan; Gathers and reports project status to leadership and the customer
Provides sub-project level or full smaller scale project leadership and organization, as required, for multiple concurrent projects, mentoring and training for engineers
Deploys processes and systems within the workgroup
Develops project proposals and associate cost estimates
Works with internal manufacturing support groups to understand the requirements of the production environment
Works with customers to understand customer requirements regarding a product design
Provides research and development for new design methods and tools under management guidance
Participates in identification and development of advanced/new technologies
Drives design/development related business discussions on internal customer team(s)
Performs portions of and lead Design for Excellence (DFX) efforts; Creates necessary documentation

Provides technical leadership to Mechanical Design, Printed Circuit Board Design, Functional Test, and In-Circuit Test for product, test, and tooling development
Provides project level leadership and organization, as required, for multiple concurrent projects; Provide project leadership and training for engineers

Makes Engineering computations and writes/edits specifications
Verifies completed work, checking tolerances, component selection and system requirements for their project, as well as Hardware group members to be used per the verification plan

Assists with assembly of prototypes
Participates in the development of advanced/new technologies related to products, assemblies, PCBs, components, processes, methods and tools

Assists in the coordination of Hardware engineering strategies for Benchmark customers
