Attorney Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide comprehensive legal support to the General Counsel.
- Review, draft, and negotiate a wide range of contracts with a focus on minimizing legal risks and ensuring alignment with business strategy.
- Skilled contract review that anticipates and guards against future legal risks.
- Provide legal guidance related to data privacy protection, employment agreements, marketing/advertising compliance, and regulatory matters (FTC/FDA).
- Interpret and apply contractual principles and company policies to a variety of agreements; develop and implement legal positions and procedures accordingly.
- Assist with litigation management, including document review and coordination with outside counsel.
- Track, calendar, and maintain organization of all company contractual relationships.
- Draft cease and desist letters or complete other general legal tasks or projects as needed by the General Counsel.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure business initiatives comply with relevant laws and regulations.
- Contribute to the development of internal policies, templates, and training materials.
Attorney Qualifications and Skills
- Must have a J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school and be an active member in good standing of a U.S. state bar (NC admittance not required).
- Mid to High level (7-15+) years of experience as a practicing attorney. Areas of contractual expertise are somewhat flexible, but strongly preferred areas include Data Privacy & Protection, Supply & Manufacturing, Intellectual Property including Trademark Licensing, Talent Acquisition, Marketing/Advertising, and Employment Agreements.
