JOB SUMMARY:
The HR Director of Talent Acquisition & Employee Relations will be responsible for the overall administration, coordination, and evaluation of the Human Resources Generalist function. The position will manage a team of Human Resource Generalists and Talent Acquisition Recruiters responsible for providing support for the American Textile Company global workforce.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Human Resources Management
Acts as a strategic business partner with leadership to develop and execute plans focused on supporting the achievement of both functional and key business performance objectives
Manages the Human Resource Generalists and Recruiters, and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within assigned functions of the department
Prepares and conducts contract negotiations for the collective bargaining agreement in partnership with internal and external stakeholders
Develops department goals, objectives, and budgets for assigned functional areas
Creates, monitors, and tracks HR metrics related to employee relations and recruiting (turnover and retention rates, cost-per-hire, exit-interview analysis, etc.)
Provides leadership guidance for execution of plans and activities related to programs and tools that require team support for successful implementation (i.e. performance management, salary planning, benefit enrollment, etc.)
Manages and facilitates coordination of the quarterly and annual ATC Spirit Award meetings
Acts as the primary point of contact for all Human Resources related needs in our China and Philippines offices.
Serves as a member of the crisis response team, and actively participates in all related efforts and initiatives
Employee Relations
Develops and manages all employee relations programs and tools
Creates, manages, and oversees all diversity, equity, and inclusion programs, including the design of company policies that reinforce an environment of equal opportunity
Promotes corporate values and helps to shape a positive company culture where employees are appreciated, recognized, and respected
Leads the development and implementation of employee policies and procedures; maintains and updates the employee handbook to remain compliant with all regulatory changes and best practices
Counsels employees, supervisors and managers on all company related policies and procedures
Manages the administration of the collective bargaining agreement, such as grievance administration, and ensures all requests and complaints are addressed in a timely manner
Strengthens management and employee relations through communication of best practices, mitigation tactics, and strategies for managing employee grievances; provides training for supervisors and managers as needed
Provides oversight and recommendations for all disciplinary actions, terminations, and investigations
Ensures compliance with all employment laws and regulatory activities
Recruitment
Develops and implements recruitment, onboarding, and off-boarding strategy and programs for all workforce requirements
Conducts a thorough analysis of current and future hiring needs to create a sustainable talent acquisition strategy that supports the strategic initiatives of the organization
Oversees the Talent Acquisition team responsible for carrying out the strategy to attract, identify, acquire, assess and hire candidates in an effort to meet changing demands in both the skilled and unskilled workforce for our manufacturing and office roles nationwide
Manages all executive recruiting functions; including conducting a needs assessment, devising a project plan, sourcing, headhunting, interviewing and organizing all meetings and travel as needed
Acts as the primary point of contact for our hiring partners in the Philippines regarding any recruiting needs that are outsourced through them
Negotiates and manages contracts of all staffing agency partnership, determining when to utilize their services and to what degree those services are needed
Oversees all immigration programs, including leading all actions and activities related to the successful approval of H2B Visas, acting as primary liaison between ATC, our immigration attorney, and the US government in matters of application deliverables and follow-up, coordination with the Embassy in El Salvador and migrant workforce, and communication with key internal stakeholders
Provides guidance and oversight to recruiters and generalists for all onshore requirements once Visas have been awarded and assigned
Maintains knowledge of latest trends, sourcing strategies, candidate assessment, compliance and hiring standards
Monitors the success and satisfaction of the candidate, new hire, and employee experience
Prepares all offer letters, manages relocation efforts, and extenuating circumstances
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required; Master's Degree preferred
Minimum of 10 years of progressive Human Resources experience
5-7 years of management experience required; preferably overseeing the team responsible for the generalist and recruiting functions
SHRM or HRCI certification a plus
Previous experience in a union environment required
Prior experience with immigration laws and practices preferred
Extensive knowledge of employment related laws, regulations, and best practices
Advanced experience with Microsoft Office, applicant tracking systems (ATS), job posting sites, and professional social media platforms (i.e. LinkedIn)
Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
Possesses a passion for people
Adept at creative conflict resolution and negotiation tactics
Fluent in employment branding practices and corporate hiring initiatives
Highly adaptable, flexible, and change tolerant
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills
Ability to build relationships with employees at all levels
Some travel required
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Ability to withstand prolonged periods sitting at a desk
Frequent use of upper extremities to perform keyboard functions and work on a computer
Ability to occasionally stand/walk
