Title: Continuous Improvement Engineering Manager
Position: Full Time, Exempt

Reports to: Sr. Director of CI Operations
SUMMARY OF ROLE
Lead and implement continuous improvement (CI) culture throughout the organization while being responsible for the identification, prioritization, and implementation of CI projects and training. Develop sustainable improvements through engagement of a team- based servant leadership approach, strong technical knowledge, and proper use of continuous improvement tools.

Lead and implement continuous improvement (CI) culture throughout the organization while being responsible for the identification, prioritization, and implementation of CI projects and training. Develop sustainable improvements through engagement of a team- based servant leadership approach, strong technical knowledge, and proper use of continuous improvement tools.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible at all times for promoting a safety culture and safety awareness within their area of responsibility.
- Support and enforce all plant safety policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner.
- The job will require travel to several operations in the US working with plant CI and operations teams to evaluate, develop and implement facilities and work cell CI projects.
- Under the guidance from the Managing Director and working with other members of the Westfall CI Team chartering new continuous improvement projects.
- Review process value stream mapping and recommend staffing levels, materials, machines, methods and performance metrics (measurements) to ensure an effective operation.
- Identify and champion opportunities for continuous improvement initiatives, OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) improvements, etc.
- Fairly and consistently adhere to all Company and Plant procedures, work rules and guidelines.
- Work with Operations to build training content and organize training sessions as needed.
- Work with outside technical vendors to develop and source possible automation or material conveyance equipment required to improve processes. Including the sending and evaluating of RFQ's'
- Communicate methods, changes, scheduling, etc. as appropriate and required cross-functionally throughout the organization.
- Travel will be required, as needed
- May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge Requirements:
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt preferred. Prior experience in continuous improvement initiatives a plus.
- Must have technical skills in tooling, processing, automation and/or machines.
- Excellent interpersonal skills - ability to build positive relationships at all levels of the organization. Excellent communications skills - ability to communicate clearly and concisely in multiple media - verbal, written, etc.
- Excellent organizational/time management skills.
- Ability to prioritize work assignments in a fast-paced work environment, calm under pressure and flexibility to direct work force and adapt to changing schedules as appropriate.
- Strong computer skills a plus (IQMS and MS Office Suite).
- Strong knowledge of production operation, including equipment, materials, workflow, etc.
- Knowledge of Total Quality Systems
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
- Minimum 5 years previous experience managing in a manufacturing environment, preferably in plastics
- Experience with injection molding
