JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective

This role is designed to serve as the head of USA Football's Development Program, including oversight of the entire program. This individual will have a direct hand in crafting the curriculum and run of show and program direction for the development program, and it's relevant in-person and virtual opportunities for athletes, coaches, scouts and officials.

This role will oversee and directly support the team that manages the professional personnel (coaches, scouts and officials) as well as those who oversee athlete scouting and development. They will be responsible for working with contractors and internal resources from various teams to create programming and content - and supporting that development themselves - that is engaging for our key audiences and their influencers in the Development Program. This role will also 'get their hands dirty' be executing and contributing both on-site and digitally to the content or programmatic needs of the Development Program and the team.

Lastly, they are responsible for leading the Development Program Product Team, working with Events, High Performance and Growth to lead the in-person events related to the program.

Essential Functions

Oversight of Development Program, including management of internal and external resources
Direct and contribute to the curriculum and run of show for Development Program events, both in-person and virtual
With Sr. Director of Sport Growth & Development, events and accounting: create budgets and milestones related to the Development Program and ensure timely completion and status updates
Responsible for competitive flag skills and drills database, including those used for development and for talent evaluation related to Football Development Model Stages 4-6
Create content and collaborate to develop resources related to competitive flag skills and drills in alignment with stages 4-6 of the Football Development Model
Travel to events to develop and support personnel related to the Development Program and ensure quality execution
Create and participate in quality control efforts related to coaches and officials at our events
Direct input into curriculum needs for coaches and officials content related to the Development Program or related initiatives
Oversee Athlete Scouting & Development Manager, helping to provide resources and remove barriers for in-person and virtual scouting
Collaborate with Service, Events, Sports Growth and Recruiting teams to make sure our athletes, coaches and officials have a valuable experience through the Development Program
Ensure we are creating, identifying and developing a pool of athletes and coaches throughout the country that helps us build alignment through the Football Development Model at every level of the sport to deliver sustained competitive excellence
Build relationships with other departments to build timelines and develop new ideas for projects
As necessary, act as the final decision maker on Development Program Scouts taking part in our programming
Work with High Performance department to provide mechanisms to deliver relevant content to their stakeholders and also work with that team to create appropriate content to develop Development Program personnel and talent to be ready for potential National Team inclusion

Required Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in sports or related field
10 years of experience in national governing bodies, sports, sport training leadership or related
6+ years of management experience

Preferred Education and Experience
Preferred experience in football

As required by the Equal Pay Transparency Act, USA Football provides a reasonable range of minimum compensation for roles. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, education, etc. The pay range for this position is as follows: $77,847 - $124,353.

This position is eligible to participate in an annual incentive program. Must meet requirements.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has overall supervisory responsibility for the Development Program at USA Football, including employees and contractors supporting it directly.

Work Environment

This job primarily operates in a remote office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and phones.

Physical Demands

Requires the ability to sit for more than four hours per day, reading, listening, stooping, bending and manual dexterity.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a Full-Time remote position.

Travel

Up to 40% travel- including weekends and evenings, particularly in the first two quarters of the year

Salary

We offer a competitive salary and benefits.

Salary range for this position is Min $77,847 - Max $124,353, commensurate with experience, education, and skills.
