POSITION OVERVIEW:
This role is located at our Yonge Eglinton Centre office. The AVP, Information Technology ensures appropriate and effective infrastructure for information technology activities by choosing and implementing management systems, programming tools and systems products, written guidelines, organizational standards and functions.

POSITION OVERVIEW:
This role is located at our Yonge Eglinton Centre office. The AVP, Information Technology ensures appropriate and effective infrastructure for information technology activities by choosing and implementing management systems, programming tools and systems products, written guidelines, organizational standards and functions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leading the IT PMO team, fostering collaboration, and managing relationships with senior executives, clients, and other key stakeholders Ensuring that IT projects align with business objectives and contribute to the organization's overall strategy;
- Establishing project management frameworks, methodologies, and best practices to ensure consistency and efficiency across all IT projects;
- Overseeing the allocation of resources (budget, personnel, technology) across projects to optimize performance and mitigate risks;
- Reviewing and assessing incoming project proposals to determine alignment with organizational priorities, feasibility, and potential ROI. Ensuring that high-value projects are prioritized;
- Designing and managing a structured, transparent project intake process to streamline submissions, maintain fairness, and avoid bottlenecks;
- Develop strategic and operational plans for control, management and improvement of information technology capabilities and for ensuring alignment with the organization's goals and objectives;
- Ensure Bill 198 compliance and controls within the department;
- Develop and maintain all budgetary information for the department;
- Manage and direct information technology divisional services that provide feasibility studies, systems analysis and design, construction, implementation, testing, documentation and evaluation of information and communication;
- Monitor security for corporate data and systems; assure the integrity and reliability of computerized information systems and communication systems;
- Implement the approved Information Technology business plan;
- Provide leadership and direction to a team of senior managers responsible for the direct delivery of information technology systems and services;
- Ensure delivery of a secured infrastructure, including all contingency requirements and documented processes;
- Identify opportunities for better utilization of technology and business process improvement to enhance delivery and responsiveness to users;
- Provide overall project management for all IT development projects;
- Communicate business objectives to the Information Technology organization;
- Prepare the entire organization for the impacts of evolving technology on business processes and operations;
- Work closely with other functional areas of who are most directly impacted by the performance of the Technology area and forms collaborative relationships;
- Provide internal direction and consulting for the IT Steering committee along with internal Executives and Board;
- Other duties / projects as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- University degree in Computer Science or Business;
- 5 - 10 years of experience in a senior IT role; 10-15 years working as a Project Manager, managing large complex IT projects;
- PMP Certified;
- Experience leading an IT PMO;
- Experience with IT Audits;
- Experience in development / implementation of the following systems; Yardi (preferred), Logistics, Business Intelligence / decision support systems and e-commerce applications;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Proven decision-making and problem-solving skills;
- Proficient in Word, Excel and Outlook;
- Previous experience managing people.
