Summary
The Margaret M. and Albert B. Alkek Department of Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) and The Texas Heart Institute at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston seek a board-certified cardiologist with advanced expertise in cardiovascular imaging to serve as the Director of Cardiovascular CT and Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance (CMR) at Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center (BSLMC) and join the General Cardiology/Non-Invasive service line in the Division of Cardiology.
This leadership position requires a strong cardiovascular imager with leadership experience and a vision to develop and expand Cardiovascular CT and MRI services. The ideal candidate will play a key role in enhancing clinical programs, fostering collaboration, and advancing research and education in cardiovascular imaging.
The Division of Cardiology at BCM is renowned for its comprehensive cardiovascular care and cutting-edge research, offering advanced treatments in heart failure, structural heart disease, electrophysiology, congenital heart conditions, and lipid disorders. The division consists of 64 faculty and 51 fellows, providing care across Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center (BSLMC), the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center, and Ben Taub Hospital.
BCM recently announced a historic integration with The Texas Heart Institute, expanding its impact in cardiovascular patient care, research, and education.
The successful candidate will hold a faculty appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor at Baylor College of Medicine, with responsibilities spanning clinical practice, program leadership, research, and education.

Job Duties
- Provide advanced cardiac imaging services (Cardiac CT and MRI) at BSLMC for at least three days per week, ensuring high diagnostic accuracy and clinical impact.
- Direct and expand the Cardiovascular CT and MRI programs at BSLMC and its offsite locations.
- Establish and lead a Cardiac Imaging Fellowship Program
- Advance research initiatives in cardiac CT and MRI, fostering collaboration within BCM, THI, and affiliated institutions.
- Collaborate with the Department of Radiology to enhance imaging protocols, optimize workflow, and integrate innovations in cardiac imaging.
- Engage in departmental meetings, service line discussions, and educational activities to drive program growth and academic excellence.
Minimum Qualifications
- M.D., M.D./Ph.D., or D.O. degree.
- Board-certified in Cardiovascular Disease (ABIM).
- Level III training in Cardiovascular CT and Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance.
- At least 5 years of experience with demonstrated leadership experience in cardiac imaging.
- Eligible for Texas medical licensure.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in multi-site cardiac imaging program development and expansion, including workflow optimization and quality improvement initiatives.
- National/international reputation of excellence in cardiac imaging as evidenced by a strong history of publication and thought leadership.
- Commitment to education and training, including developing a formal Cardiac Imaging Fellowship Program.
- Research interest and experience in cardiac CT and MRI.
