The Measurement Engineer is responsible for development and maintenance of measurement systems used for loudspeaker development; creating and documenting processes in accordance with industry standards (AES, IEC, ANSI); and supporting loudspeaker development and production by performing electrical and acoustic measurements as well as providing support to manufacturing plants.

The salary range for this position is $79,000-$84,000 annually and is not bonus eligible. Individual pay for this role can fall anywhere within this range and is dependent on numerous factors including but not limited to work experience, applicable education, job knowledge, certifications, role complexity, job geographic location, etc. In addition to base compensation, Bosch offers a comprehensive total rewards package focusing on overall wellbeing and benefit offerings being effective Day 1! Job Description
The Measurement Engineer is responsible for development and maintenance of measurement systems used for loudspeaker development; creating and documenting processes in accordance with industry standards (AES, IEC, ANSI); and supporting loudspeaker development and production by performing electrical and acoustic measurements as well as providing support to manufacturing plants.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Development of test and design verification for functional and reliability testing, including testing of speaker components and complete systems (powered and passive).
- Perform standardized tests on loudspeakers for research and development purposes as well as for loudspeakers currently in production for evaluation of consistent quality.
- Support manufacturing plants in their validation testing, review measured data, create statistical limits, and troubleshoot measurement issues remotely and in person.
- Create calibration and maintenance processes, document and implement them, and manage general lab maintenance.
- Develop measurement sequences, audio tests and simulation programs using EASERA, SoundCheck, LabVIEW, IRIS-Net, Python, C, Assembly, and MATLAB for various measurements and applications.
- Analyze and prepare gathered data for external distribution (ex. Datasheets, EASE GLLs, CLF, Preview).
- Populate database with acoustic, electrical, and mechanical information including polar data and DSP settings.
- Design and develop test fixtures for Electro-Voice loudspeaker products.
- Research potential new measurement technologies and methodologies.
- Assist in tuning Electro-Voice loudspeakers through DSP and passive network design.
- Assemble prototype loudspeakers and perform hands on design iteration.
- Evaluate loudspeaker systems and speaker components performance and reliability, failure modes and root cause failure analysis.
- Verify complete products for conformance to design specifications, operational and safety. standards such as CE/IEC 62368, EN54-24, UL 1480, CSA C22.1 and others.
- Work in team environment with Project Managers to maintain schedules for assigned tasks.
- Work with manufacturing to improve quality and costs and support sample builds.
- Support projects during full life cycle, work with quality and service departments to solve ongoing quality issues should they arise.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Acoustics, Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent.
- 0-3 years of related experience.
- Ability to innovate as part of an industry leading R&D team.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs or more with assistance.
- Ability to travel up to 25% both domestically and internationally.
- Unexpired Passport without restrictions.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with Systems Test Engineering and/or Troubleshooting.
- Experience with programming Listen SoundCheck, LabVIEW, IRIS-Net, MATLAB, or similar.
- Knowledge of industry standards such as CE and UL.
- Experience implementing audio DSP algorithms such as limiters, compressors, IIR filter, FIR filters etc.
- Experience with networked audio and or control such as Dante, OMNEO, AES70 etc.
- Experience designing, modeling, simulating and testing loudspeakers and their components (transducers, enclosures, passive networks, power amplifiers, etc.).
- Experience with 3D Computer Aided Drafting - SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD.
- Passion for product development of the highest standard.
- Passion for music/audio is a strong advantage.
