Role description:
Arcadis is seeking a talented Project Architect or Project Architectural Designer to join our Industrial Practice Group in the Novi, MI office. This is a great opportunity for a passionate, well-organized, and self-motivated individual to take on dynamic and technically challenging projects both locally, nationally, and internationally. The successful candidate would manage all aspects of a project, from programming and conceptualization to construction administration and closeout for our industrial practice group. This position may require ability to travel, work from the office and at project sites.

Arcadis offers benefits for full time and part time positions. We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $85,000-$100,000. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.

Role description:

The successful candidate would manage all aspects of a project, from programming and conceptualization to construction administration and closeout for our industrial practice group. Role accountabilities:
- Understands all phases of design documentation and construction
- Understands compliance with applicable building codes and regulations, jurisdictional reviews, and accessibility standards
- Plans, coordinates and manages the project development process of light and heavy industrial projects
- Negotiates critical and controversial issues with appropriate parties
- Coordinates and collaborates with other lead design professionals to ensure design and documentation are in accordance with projects expectations
- Serves as a key contributor during client meetings and presentations
- Lead the production, and coordination of industrial project technical drawings through all project phases-from Concept Design through to Construction Administration.
- Mentoring junior staff for design quality, technical detailing, and ensuring adherence to design intent, quality standards, and client objectives
- Collaborate closely with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams to facilitate the smooth delivery of projects
- Monitor project timelines, budgets, and deliverables to ensure alignment with scope and performance goals
- Travels as needed for client meetings, conferences, and internal strategic meetings
- Supports proposal development process, as needed
- Contributes to business development by establishing confidence with clients, actively encourages and seeks opportunities for follow up business for each project and assists in the development and participates in interviews for potential projects
- Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and concurrently execute multiple projects at various phases of design and delivery, in a fast-paced work environment
- Strong leadership, organizational, written/verbal communication, and relationship-management skills
- Effective problem-solving skills, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with clients and staff.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality architectural solutions
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited institution in Architecture
- 10+ years of related experience in an architectural firm, designing complex projects with a preference toward industrial experience
- Licensed or pursuing licensure is an asset
- Registration with NCARB and AIA membership is an asset
- Proficient in Revit is required
- Proficiency with Navisworks is an asset
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD
- Experience with MS Office Suite, MS SharePoint, MS Project, Autodesk Construction Cloud, and Bluebeam
- Solid working knowledge of building codes
