OVERVIEW/DESCRIPTION:
As a member of the Cigna Healthcare (CHC) Clinical Leadership team, this role will report directly to the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) for Cigna Healthcare and will be responsible for leading CHC's Clinical Client Growth, Management and Innovation team, driving the clinical elements of sales and growth efforts across Cigna's health plan.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Drive enterprise results: Drive the achievement of revenue and growth targets through the contributions of Cigna Healthcare's market-facing clinical teams.
- Partner across the matrix: Act as a critical business partner to sales leadership across all segments and sales operations, ensuring strong collaboration and coordination on business decisions.
- Bring clinical to the forefront: Elevate Cigna Healthcare's clinical value proposition to the market, in close collaboration with Cigna Healthcare U.S. Sales, Sales Operations, and Marketing leadership.
- Enable strategic growth goals: Lead teams of national account and market-based medical executives and nurse executives in support of driving key business and clinical initiatives through consultative interactions with clients to achieve growth goals.
- Integrate to optimize impact: Support the integration of clinical teams into the broader sales infrastructure, including training, messaging of value proposition, relationship management, communication of clinical insights, performance reporting, and case escalations.
- Build innovative and strategic partnerships with employers: Curate and nurture deep and innovative collaboration models with national and regional employer clients to drive innovation in the employee health space.
- Translate market insights: Build and support structured feedback mechanisms between market interactions to the clinical product and program teams to ensure clinical solutions are aligned with real-life client/customer/patient needs.
- Advance our clinical value proposition: Collaborate with the product, solutions and marketing teams on efforts tied to clinical messaging and clinical value proposition enhancements.
- Act as a thought leader: Serve as a thought leader and external presence at national speaking engagements, market events and with key industry partners.
- Lead and Develop Teams: Build and manage high-performing teams, comprised of clinicians, project managers and product managers.
- Recruit a talented bench: Staff with top-level talent, bringing best-in-class internal clinical, strategy, and operations talent together alongside external talent with new and innovative perspectives.
- Achieve a clinical/business balance: Be respected organization-wide for bringing both clinical expertise, patient-focused integrity and compassion, and a sharp business, sales, and P&L mindset.
- Be results-oriented: Be oriented to managing work from vision through to completion, with a data-driven orientation and an ability to get stuff done.
- Work effectively within a matrix: Navigate complex cross-matrix working relationships and dynamics with ease and an ability to successfully drive work through collaboration and influence.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- MD/DO required; MBA or relevant business experience (10-15 years) preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a clinical leadership role, with experience in healthcare sales, employee health, and/or health plan leadership.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in clinical practice. Current clinical practice is a plus but not required.
- Strong understanding of healthcare payer and provider dynamics, value-based care models, and health services innovation.
- Proven ability to lead and develop clinical teams in a corporate or business-oriented environment.
- Exceptional leadership and relationship-building skills, with the ability to drive alignment across diverse teams.
- Strong external presence, including ability to drive thought leadership and strong presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to drive and manage change with a balanced combination of empathy, enterprise mindset, and action orientation.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to translate clinical insights into business value.
- Sales orientation with an ability to form and maintain relationships, understand clients' pain points, and collaborate to devise solutions.
- Enterprise thinker with proven ability to influence across a matrixed environment. Ability to develop strong relationships across all levels of the organization, and with external partners.
- Ability to travel as needed to support sales and provider engagements.
