About the Municipal Fixed Income Investment Team: The Municipal team manages approximately $10 billion of assets for institutional and wealth management clients. The team invests in a wide array of public finance credits, including bonds issued by state and local governments, housing finance authorities, hospitals, airports, utilities, and more. The team seeks to acquire durable credits at attractive valuations, for the benefit of our clients.

Join us as a Fixed Income Research Analyst

We are looking for a self-motivated analyst to join the Municipal Fixed Income Investment Team within Capital Partners (CP). This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong analytical and presentation skills to pursue an investment career. The successful candidate will participate in all aspects of the municipal investment process and will enjoy significant exposure to senior management.

The analyst will be a member of a 7-person municipal investment team, consisting of co-portfolio managers, traders, and other municipal analysts. The candidate will be expected to develop sound investment theses, contribute to the team's investment strategy discussions, and communicate our opinions to internal and external constituencies. All of the team's analysts are generalists and cover issuers in all municipal sectors; initially, however, the analyst may be assigned specific sectors to reach proficiency. The analyst must be comfortable working in an open and collaborative setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct municipal bond research and fundamental analysis, as well as perform ongoing credit surveillance for our investments.
• Develop, document, and present investment recommendations.
• Refine our credit methodologies and prepare, as needed, commentaries and other correspondence to clients, consultants, and other interested parties.
• Evaluate the relative risk/return profile of issues in collaboration with the team.
• Collaborate with other analysts in monitoring aggregate credit exposures.
• Work closely with institutional and wealth management relationship managers to analyze in-kind transfers and to expertly communicate our credit theses.

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of relevant experience.
• BA/BS degree with superior academic achievement; a post-graduate degree is a plus.
• Strong conceptual and critical thinking skills.
• A self-motivated team player with effective communication skills, both oral and written.
• Strong analytical skills with a demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office products and data management.
• Displays intellectual courage and can constructively debate and defend ideas.
• Rigorous attention to detail and effective time management skills.
• Training and/or experience working with financial statement analysis.

Salary Range

$100,000- $130,000

BBH's compensation program includes base salary, discretionary bonuses, and profit-sharing. The anticipated base salary range(s) shown above are only for the indicated location(s) and may differ in other locations due to cost of living and labor considerations. Base salaries may vary based on factors such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.
