Overview

PURPOSE STATEMENT: (REMOTE with TRAVEL)

The Strategic Account Manager (SAM) will be responsible for connecting and building trust within their specified respective Strategic Account partners and associated healthcare communities. They will be positioned as reliable resources for behavioral health treatment partners with knowledge and access to a vast network of facilities and resources, ranging from addiction and co-occurring disorders to trauma, mood/anxiety, disordered eating and complex pain. The SAM will initiate, maintain and grow new Strategic Accounts for the Treatment Placement Specialists (TPS) Portfolio of Programs and any appropriately correlated facilities in the Acadia network; Strategic Accounts are specified by typically more complex, longer-term partnerships that require multiple company and facility touch points and significant infrastructure and resources to properly service, all while also providing a larger, more consistent volume of appropriate referrals for proper placement in treatment.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Build and nurture long-term, trust-based partnerships with Strategic Account partners, including employer groups, EAPs, managing entities, and clinical professionals, with a focus on understanding and addressing the individualized needs of patients. Ensure mutual benefit and effective collaboration with a strong commitment to integrity.
  • Achieve and exceed specific sales and performance targets for assigned Strategic Accounts, aligned with the incentive plan. Focus on expanding Acadia's reach in the market and increasing access to treatment services, with a goal of delivering appropriate and timely referrals for treatment placements.
  • Collaborate effectively with the TPS team to enhance overall performance, efficiency, and team morale. Foster an environment of teamwork, empowering colleagues and optimizing roles to maximize the impact of Strategic Accounts and referral processes.
  • Integrate and leverage local TPS team members as resources once an account is established as a reliable partner, where appropriate. Ensure ongoing support and collaboration to maintain strong relationships with Strategic Accounts, enhancing the overall experience for both partners and patients.
  • Lead training initiatives for the TPS team and strategic partners, facilitating workshops and coaching sessions to enhance sales capabilities, leadership skills, and collaboration. Work in close alignment with established leadership to ensure consistent growth and development.
  • Contribute to the development of targeted marketing strategies for the portfolio, working alongside the leadership team and facility leaders. Ensure the marketing approach is customized for each facility and aligns with the growth goals, emphasizing Acadia's capabilities and range of services.
  • Identify and resolve barriers to marketing and admissions in the region, collaborating with referral sources to improve the efficiency and quality of the referral process. Work proactively to remove obstacles and enhance relationships with key referral partners.
  • Manage travel and business development activities within the designated budget. Ensure that all efforts align with the overarching sales and marketing strategy, while maintaining cost-effectiveness and maximizing the impact of each engagement.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional Acadia departments, including TPS, Executive Leadership, Corporate Marketing, IT, and Public Relations, to achieve sales objectives and ensure the alignment of strategies, resources, and communications to support overall business goals

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
    • 5 years of direct experience in consultative sales and/or clinical training in behavioral healthcare, substance abuse, or related field is preferred
    • Successful history as a leader and manager of professionals
    • Must exhibit excellent communication skills, both oral and written
    • Considerable knowledge of professional sales, marketing and communication principals, practices, and techniques applicable to a healthcare environment
    • Self-motivation, organization and a passion to help are a must
    • A professional with a proven track record of success in past positions with a combination of business acumen, entrepreneurial vision, compassion and a commitment to impactful, positive change for our clients in the behavioral health field.
    • Experience in managing an assigned territory, building effective business relationships and finding new opportunities to further develop the geography.
    • Experience in managing and growing multiple regional and national accounts that span multiple business segments and often encompass multiple decision makers
    • Proven track record of strategic business development, measureable growth, CRM records management is required
    • A demonstrated ability to learn and leverage customer and market dynamics
