The Northwest School seeks an experienced math teacher to teach topics ranging from Pre-algebra to Algebra 2 for the 2025-26. academic year. This is a 10-month 1.0 FTE position.

Salary is highly competitive with top independent schools in the region and commensurate with education and experience and includes all professional responsibilities of a teacher, both in the classroom and community contributions.Salary range is $57,931- $105,644 based on education & years of experience.

Essential Duties & Responsiblities:
- Teach four sections of math, ranging from Pre-algebra to Algebra 2.
- Coordinate curricula with other Math teachers and grade level teachers.
- Advise a group of students at a grade level.
- Participate fully in the life of the school, including collaborating effectively and collegially with your teaching team, grade level, and department; promoting positive dialogue with colleagues, students, and families; engaging regularly in formal, ongoing professional development beyond school-based in-service; supporting colleagues and the school by substituting for absent teachers; and participating in meetings, committees, and community gatherings. Additionally, know, understand, and uphold the school's mission, philosophy, and values.
- All teachers contribute to the school's mission and community through activities such as supporting students' social-emotional learning (SEL), leading interest groups (clubs), organizing social events, and attending grade-level trips. For part-time teachers, engagement in these activities should be proportional to their full-time equivalent (FTE).
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- All candidates must demonstrate a commitment to the school's mission, values, and philosophy, especially related to diversity, equity, inclusion, environmental sustainability, and global perspective.
- A Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or a related field and a minimum of 1 year experience teaching math to upper school students is required.
- Candidates must demonstrate an ability to establish an effective learning environment and use a wide range of methods.
- Knowledge and experience with differentiation to effectively design curricula to meet the needs of a diverse student population.
- Ability to provide additional outside-of-classroom instruction when necessary for remedial or accelerated work.
- Ability to assess student progress through a variety of assessment instruments.
- An ability to work both independently and as a productive member of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A master's degree and 3+ years of teaching experience is preferred.
- Experience teaching higher-level math (Precalculus, Calculus)
- Experience working with middle school students
