General Description:

Join a rapidly growing cannabis retail company as our Controller, where you'll lead financial operations across multiple states and business units. This is a strategic, high-impact role focused on GAAP-compliant reporting, audit management, internal controls, and debt oversight. If you're an experienced financial leader who thrives in fast-paced, regulated industries-this is your opportunity to drive real change.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare accurate, GAAP-compliant consolidated financial statements across all entities
  • Lead and manage internal and external audit processes
  • Maintain and enhance internal controls across GL, A/P, A/R, payroll, and cost accounting
  • Monitor cash flow and debt, ensure covenant compliance, and support financing strategies
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and liquidity modeling
  • Partner with department leads to deliver financial insights and ensure retail-level accuracy
  • Provide documentation and memos on complex accounting treatments and procedures
  • Occasionally travel to retail sites for audit and compliance support

Job Requirements:
  • CPA license required
  • Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance (Master's preferred)
  • 7+ years in accounting/finance, with 3+ years in leadership roles
  • Experience managing audits and preparing consolidated financials for multi-entity, multi-state businesses
  • Strong command of GAAP and accounting systems (SAGE, NetSuite, SAP, QuickBooks)
  • Proven success managing corporate debt and lender relationships
  • Exceptional analytical, leadership, and communication skills
  • Cannabis industry experience a plus, but not required
  • A high level of integrity, personal motivation, adaptability, and sense of urgency
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and managing sensitive information
  • Ability to commit to working in office 100% of the time
  • Successfully pass a pre-employment criminal background check
  • Minimum 21 years of age
Benefits and Compensation:
  • Pay starts at $105,000 - $120,000 annually commensurate with experience
