As a Staff Technical Product Manager, you will lead the strategy and development of mobile and web-based customer experiences, focusing on Connected Car capabilities and a seamless digital ecosystem that integrates vehicle ownership, remote features, and commerce experiences. This role bridges engineering, product management, and business strategy, ensuring our digital platforms deliver high-impact customer engagement, sales, and service experiences.

This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.
Initial base salary range = $150,000.00 - $170,000.00

What you'll do
Join an iconic brand that is redefining the pick-up truck and rugged SUV marketplace. As a Staff Technical Product Manager, you will lead the strategy and development of mobile and web-based customer experiences, focusing on Connected Car capabilities and a seamless digital ecosystem that integrates vehicle ownership, remote features, and commerce experiences. This role bridges engineering, product management, and business strategy, ensuring our digital platforms deliver high-impact customer engagement, sales, and service experiences.
- Define and Lead Strategy: Develop the vision, strategy, and roadmap for customer-facing mobile and web experiences, including Connected Car functionality, remote vehicle management, and commerce experiences. Ensure alignment with business objectives, emerging technology trends, and customer expectations.
- Own the Mobile & Connected Car Experience: Lead the development of mobile applications and cloud-based services that enhance vehicle ownership, providing seamless remote control, diagnostics, and service interactions through intuitive digital interfaces.
- Drive Customer-Centric Innovation: Act as a customer advocate, identifying pain points and opportunities to enhance the digital ownership experience through vehicle connectivity, personalized services, and seamless integrations across web, mobile, and in-vehicle interfaces.
- Integrate with Vehicle Systems: Work closely with engineering and telematics teams to develop secure, scalable APIs that enable real-time vehicle interactions, including OTA updates, remote diagnostics, vehicle status monitoring, and personalized in-app experiences.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Partner with software engineering, UX, hardware, and cloud infrastructure teamsto deliver end-to-end digital solutions that bridge mobile applications, web platforms, and in-vehicle systems.
- Stakeholder Relationships: Act as a trusted advisor to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment between business goals and technology investments.
- Operationalize Digital Products: Drive the launch and adoption of mobile-first and web-based solutions across retail, service, and customer engagement platforms.
- Measure & Optimize Performance: Define KPIs and success metrics to track user adoption, engagement, and product performance, using data-driven insights to continuously refine digital offerings.
Location & Travel Expectations:
- This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Fremont, California.
- The responsibilities of this role requireattendance in office with some in-person meetings and events.
- Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

Experience:
- 8+ years of technical product management experience with a strong emphasis on mobile, connected car, or customer-facing digital platforms.
- Proven track record of launching mobile apps and digital experiences with a focus on vehicle connectivity, remote services, or automotive e-commerce.
- Experience in direct-to-consumer (DTC) automotive sales, vehicle delivery, or subscription-based models is a plus.
Technical Expertise:
- Deep understanding of mobile application development (iOS & Android), cloud infrastructure, and APIs for vehicle connectivity.
- Experience integrating with telematics platforms, OTA updates, remote diagnostics, and cloud-to-vehicle communications.
- Familiarity with enterprise platforms (CRM, ERP, service management) and their role in automotive digital ecosystems.
Skills:
- Strong leadership and collaboration skills to align cross-functional teams and drive execution at scale.
- Expertise in data analytics, user engagement metrics, and mobile app performance tracking.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and develop structured, strategic roadmaps in evolving business environments.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. MBA or advanced technical degree preferred.
