Title: Data Governance Manager
Department: Operational Excellence and FP&A (Financial Planning & Analysis)
Supervisor: VP of Operational Excellence and FP&A
The Data Manager's role is to strategically manage, administer and recommend data flow across the enterprise, while ensuring high levels of data quality, integrity, availability, accuracy, completeness, consistency and privacy.
This individual is responsible for standardizing data naming, establishing consistent data definitions,
monitoring/auditing the data quality and executing cleansing and policy agreements. The Data Manager focuses on business benefits, fosters the goal of data re-use, helps create and manage and
uphold governance agreements and articulate the strategic significance of information to the organization.
This role will be part of the Operational Excellence and Financial Planning and Analysis team and will have a strong collaboration with purchasing, planning, farming, processing, distribution, logistics, accounting, and sales teams. The role is an individual contributor with high levels of visibility and responsibility ensuring our master data and data collection processes are clean and trusted.
MAJOR JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Help create and enforce Master Data Governance policies and procedures.
Create and adhere to SLAs / KPI's and accuracy ratios for creating and updating master data records. Assess the adaptability level of the current system.
Administer all necessary Create/Read/Update/Delete requests to appropriate master data, ensuring accuracy of information.
Monitor all newly created / updated master data records for accuracy and completeness.
Be the "Gate Keeper" in maintaining consistency, uniformity and accuracy of master data across multiple systems.
Identify and manage the escalation and resolution of data quality issues in a cost-effective and timely fashion.
Run designated reports that will support analytics, data accuracy, metrics, reporting, etc..
Continuously improve Data Governance policies to address both identified and potential future organizational requirements.
Provide expertise to other teams including data administration and source-based data analysis.
Project Management skills with willingness to lead, guide and drive implementations of systems and processes to completion while engaging other divisions within the organization.
Works independently on regular duties under general supervision, referring questionable cases to supervisor or others.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in information engineering, information systems or other related fields.
Relevant professional experience of at least 5 years.
Previous experience in the development of financial management systems for efficiencies.
Data management experience in manufacturing, farming, or food industry. Familiarity with Sage X3 is beneficial asset.
Experience developing detailed financial and operational reporting systems.
Ability to query SQL data with SSMS.
Experience with PowerBI English proficiency required; Spanish is beneficial.
Ability to work productively in teams.
Normal work hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Must be flexible and be willing to work additional hours or weekends as needed.
Up to 25% travel required.
Within commuting distance of facility is a plus.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Possess a strong background in the administration of data and attention to detail.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Ability to provide internal customer service, advanced technical data flow assistance and comprehensive problem resolution to end users and department leaders.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a diverse community.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
Ability to diagnose and rectify a wide range of complex computer Data Flow issues / errors.
Project management experience.
Knowledge of Data Warehousing is a plus.
Certified Data Management Professional - CDMP certificate is a plus.
