Please Note: This is a Contract Position with limited benefits. It may lead to a Full Time Position some time down the line depending on performance.
SUMMARY
Responsible for the coordination and maintenance of the community outreach programs. Oversees the development of plans and programs of all community relations-based activities between MARTA, community service and neighborhood organizations, transit advocacy groups ethnic-specific organizations, Transportation Management Associations, and the public. Provides and facilitates exchange between MARTA planning and capital staff and the communities served.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversees the coordination of activities associated with obtaining the service needs and concerns of the community. Assist with developing proactive plans and programs of outreach targeted at traditionally underrepresented communities (i.e., minority, low-income, elderly, and disabled). Develops and oversees plans and programs of MARTA participation and exchange with business interests and various civic and institutional organizations. Creates and maintains a consistent quality and customer focused teams' orientation in support of the Office's mission. Manages an Authority database of events and public participation, neighborhood organizations, community groups or representatives, and transit advocacy groups; ensures the information is up-to-date and accurate. Performs other related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Planning, Political/Social/Community Science or related field is required. Three years of progressively responsible experience in community outreach, development and/or community planning are required. Job related experience with community related outreach programs, and Federal, State, and local regulations associated with public involvement and community and social dynamics is highly desirable. Familiarity with specific populations segments (low-income, disabled, elderly, minorities, etc.). Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis in lieu of a degree.

Pay Rate: $46.15/hr. - $51.28/hr.
