Business Continuity Scenario Testing Specialist
The Business Continuity Testing Specialist assists in identifying and assessing operational risks, developing, and executing test plans, and reporting on test results. Scenario testing forms a key part in stressing the firm's ability to remain within impact tolerances during disruptive events, ensuring procedures and controls are effectively designed and actionable to ensure the continual delivery of services. Provides guidance to others as necessary. Solves complex issues and works independently. Will lead projects and/or have accountability for on-going activities or objectives. The partner will report test results into Group and Legal Entity Control/Resiliency Committees.

Salary Range:
$114,700 - 194,900 USD
Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Business Continuity Scenario Testing Specialist
The Business Continuity Testing Specialist assists in identifying and assessing operational risks, developing, and executing test plans, and reporting on test results. The key responsibilities of the role include:
- Helps lead provide appropriate scenario test plans for critical operations / important business services
- Consults and Advises senior Business Leaders and Practice Leads on enhancing resilience provisions
- Facilitate operational resilience tests and workshops
- Reports on operational resilience tests and test results
- Collaborates and advises Business Leaders to create post-test action plans
- Leads the development and maintenance of operational resilience documentation
- Work with other teams to ensure that operational resilience is integrated into all aspects of the business
- Identify and assess operational risks in line with risk appetite and impact tolerances
- Identify vulnerabilities within Resilience Strategies for the Businesses Important Business Service and suggests remediation activities
- Identifying, investigating and monitoring emerging resiliency risks through horizon scanning to support future scenario test plans
- Attends Global Operational Resilience governance committees to present Resilience Testing matters to Senior Leadership and Practice Leads
- Provide training and guidance to partners on operational resilience best practices
- Stay up to date on industry trends and best practices in operational resilience and resiliency testing
- Contribute to the development of the operational resilience strategy
- Supports and promotes a Resiliency culture across the enterprise
- A senior member of the resilience testing function supporting the coaching of Partners
Skills/ Experience:
- Several years' experience relating to operational resiliency and/or business continuity management testing
- Strong knowledge of operational resiliency including disaster/business recovery, business continuity management, corporate risk policies and standards
- Strong background in operational and IT practices including integrated testing
- Strong understanding of risk management practices including cyber security and how they apply in Financial Services organizations including the impact of regulation on operational resiliency matters
- Proven track record in presenting to senior management with excellent written and oral presentation skills
- Strong understanding of data analytics and related tools including Power BI
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Strong Stakeholder Management
- Ability to drive to execution
- Applies knowledge of key business drivers and the factors that maximize department performance
- Self-motivated individual operating with minimal oversight
