The Job
The San Bernardino County Library System is a vibrant, fast-paced environment dedicated to serving both customers and the community. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and creative Library Events Coordinator to plan, organize, and oversee engaging events and programs across our branch libraries.

Duties of the Library Events Coordinator include:
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with community organizations, government agencies and the public.
  • Developing, reviewing, and evaluating programs processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Assisting in the development, monitoring and adherence to budgets.
  • Reviewing branch issues, analyzing community service needs, and recommending methods and/or revisions of services.
  • Coordinating and maintaining community programs, activities, and events.
  • Preparing reports, evaluations, and materials for presentations to community organizations and grant proposals/applications.
  • Providing staff support functions to Library Administration.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Pre-Employment Process: Prior to appointment, applicants must undergo a background check, which includes fingerprinting and a medical exam.
Travel: Travel throughout the County is required. A valid California Class C driver license is required at time of appointment, and must be maintained throughout employment. Employees in this class may be required to use personal vehicles and show proof of automobile liability insurance. Mileage reimbursement is available.
Physical Requirements: Physical requirements of the position include the following: frequent reaching and bending; continuous walking and standing; continuous push and pulling; constant lifting of materials and books up to 25 pounds and frequent lifting up to 75 pounds.
Work Schedule: Applicants must be available to work evenings and weekends.
Sponsorship: San Bernardino County is unable to consider candidates who require Visa Sponsorship at this time or in the future. Candidates must be able to present their legal right to work in the United States at the time of employment.
*Salary increases contingent upon Property Related Revenue and/or statewide Realignment Sales Tax Collections performance.

Minimum Requirements
Education: A completed Bachelor's Degree or 120 semester units (180 quarter units) from an accredited college/university.
-AND-
Experience: Three (3) years of experience in any of the following areas: marketing, public relations, planning conferences/special events, developing and implementing community programs in a school, library, or recreation environment.

Desired Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or 120 semester units (180 quarter units) in Business/Public Administration, Communications, Marketing, Child Development, Education, or closely related field is preferred.
