We are currently seeking a highly skilled HSE Manager - Field Operations to join our team. As an HSE Manager, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining the health, safety, and environmental processes and procedures in our field operations. The successful candidate will play a vital role in promoting a safe working environment for all employees and ensuring compliance with local regulations and company policies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in HSE management, preferably in field operations
- Subject matter expert with 8+ years of experience in OSHA standards
- Knowledge of local HSE regulations and industry best practices
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Proven ability to develop and implement HSE programs and procedures
- Experience conducting inspections and audits
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Strong understanding of other government/professional organizations such as OSHA Voluntary Protection Program (VPP), NIOSH, NRC, ASSP, NFPA, the National Safety Council
- Currently holds or is willing to obtain additional education, safety certifications, and designations required. Designations include but not limited to: BCSP ASP and/or CSP, NSC Advanced Safety Certificate, OSHA 30 Hour, Occupational Hygiene and Safety Technician Certification (OHST)
Responsibilities
- Identify customer HSE requirements (process and system) for the different projects and analyze the respective specifications while participating in detailed clause-to-clause reviews.
- Drive HSE compliance during the project phase. Lead internal and external (customer) HSE reviews.
- Manage the configuration of project deliverables.
- Organize and fulfill client EHS requirements for the respective project.
- Participate in continuous improvement of service and the quality systems.
- Conduct HSE training at the project site with the relevant parties. This role will collaborate closely with Saft's customers to ensure that customer and product HSE requirements are fulfilled.
- Support all assigned projects to ensure field safety.
- Monitor, analyze, and report health, safety, and environmental data for trends and areas of concern, stay on top of Safety legislative/regulatory changes that may influence business functions, and champion the implementation of effective investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective actions crafted to improve safety and drive a culture predicated on injury prevention.
- This position supports the project management team to comply with project specific HSE requirements; this includes reviewing and understanding technical documents that contain critical specific, and sometimes unique, HSE requirements.
- Develop EHS Plans & other safety & sustainability documents with the expectation to maintain detailed documentation to track HSE tasks for every project the HSE Manager is involved in. The HSE Manager will follow mandatory ISO 9001 and 14001 processes, will identify, and analyze any organizational risks, and have the ability to develop and implement programs and strategies to mitigate such risks. The HSE Manager will continuously track TRIR metrics and maintain weekly and monthly records for every project.
- Actively participate in project specification clause-to-clause reviews to identify customer HSE requirements.
- Conduct HSE project audits, strictly abide by the company's Golden Rules and apply them on projects.
- Implement crisis management systems, keeping them up-to-date, and ensuring the proper communication is disseminated across all applicable parties.
- Lead the implementation of environmental management systems to help reduce the company's environmental impact, such as reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and water and energy consumption.
- Ability to analyze and provide solutions from Marvin safety data sources (e.g., incident collection software, audit software, etc.).
- Understanding of Worker's Compensation and Return to Work process.
