Position Summary:

Our Light Commercial team is evolving to maintain Carrier's leadership in the market through investments in advanced research, technologies and methods that will shape the future of our products and services. As part of this transformation, we are hiring and empowering a recently graduated engineer to help us innovate and pursue sustainable solutions for our customers.

The ideal candidate will work with global and cross disciplinary teams to apply model-based design, and verification tools to create the next generation of Cooling and Heat Pump Rooftop and Split products for energy efficient building applications. This candidate will have the ability to complete modeling and confirmation testing as required by small and medium rooftop product programs. Ideally, s/he will have familiarity with the design and development of packaged HVAC systems.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Effective communication, written and verbal, with global and diverse audiences
  • Ability to work with design teams to understand and translate design and process engineering requirements into product line design components, subsystems, and products.
  • Ability to understand product/component function, reliability, and quality requirements
  • Collaborate with Quality/Reliability to implement key metrics into the design of the product and ensure all reliability design goals are achieved
  • A working understanding of refrigeration systems, and/or electrical system requirements in order to assess internal data and supplier data
  • Responsible for small concurrent projects. Must effectively process projects from start to completion with minimal supervision.
  • Contributes to the team or department by applying their knowledge of one or more functional areas
  • Has in depth knowledge of Mechanical Engineering

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 1+ years work experience in one of Carrier's Early Careers Leadership Programs (LPs)
  • Currently enrolled in one of Carrier's Leadership Programs (LPs) with successful completion of the program in June 2025
  • Applicant must be US Citizen or Permanent Resident

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated technical understanding and skills in general engineering, software, systems, electrical, Model-based development (MBD), chemical or mechanical
  • Understand basic electronic controls function in HVAC equipment
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to write technical specifications
  • Experience in new product development or testing environment
  • Highly skilled in Microsoft; Word, Excel, Project and PowerPoint
  • Experience in thermo-fluid system control development
  • Basic experience in Matlab/Simulink, Visual Basic, C/C++, and Python

Pay Range:
$61,213 - $107,122 Annually
