The Senior Manager, Strategic Pricing and Value Realization, will be responsible for shaping and executing pricing strategies to maximize revenue and margin growth for Generac's Commercial and Industrial (C&I) product lines. This role will drive revenue productivity initiatives by leveraging business performance insights, competitive positioning, market assessments, and customer analytics.

Working cross-functionally with Marketing, Finance, Product Management, Engineering, Operations, Sales, and Supply Chain, this position will establish and maintain effective pricing strategies for industrial systems, including competitive bidding (Bid Spec) as well as negotiated contracts across various customer segments, including Data Center customers, telecom, industrial dealer channels, industrial rental and energy management customers across multiple product lines from gas and diesel stationary generators, mobile generators, light towers to battery energy storage systems and microgrid controllers. Key responsibilities include defining standard pricing structures, evaluating effective bid prices for various industrial configurations, monitoring price performance, and identifying margin improvement opportunities within the C&I business segment, as well as service parts portfolio across industrial and residential segments.

This role requires an analytical, data-driven leader with a deep understanding of pricing strategies, value-based monetization models in the industrial space, and competitive intelligence in the industrial energy market. The successful candidate will have the ability to synthesize complex data sets, collaborate with stakeholders, and drive initiatives that enhance both revenue and profitability.

Major Responsibilities

Develop and implement pricing strategies for Generac's Commercial & Industrial products, ensuring alignment with market conditions, competitive dynamics, and overall business objectives.

Lead revenue productivity initiatives by monitoring and optimizing customer/segment profitability, cost-to-serve, and product profitability within the C&I segment.

Analyze pricing performance and market trends to identify margin improvement opportunities and recommend strategic pricing adjustments.

Manage pricing structures and price lists in SAP, ensuring integrity and consistency across all distribution channels.

Collaborate cross-functionally with key stakeholders to drive pricing execution, driving win rates, and new product monetization strategies in the industrial ecosystem.

Evaluate customer willingness to pay and develop value-based pricing models for hardware, software, and service offerings related to C&I products.

Lead pricing strategy for new product introductions, ensuring alignment with go-to-market strategies and overall revenue and profitability objectives.

Monitor competitor pricing and market positioning, providing data-driven insights and recommendations for pricing adjustments.

Deliver executive-level presentations on pricing impacts, competitive insights, and revenue/profit optimization strategies.

Drive continuous improvement in pricing processes, developing scalable tools and methodologies for revenue growth management.

Develop and implement training programs to build enterprise-wide capabilities in strategic pricing and value realization.

Coach and mentor pricing professionals, fostering a high-performance team culture focused on innovation and financial impact.

Minimum Job Requirements

Education

Bachelor's degree in business, finance, marketing, economics, or related field

Certification / License

None

Work Experience

5-10+ years of experience in pricing strategy, revenue management, or commercial finance, with a strong focus on industrial or commercial equipment/products.

2 years' experience leading teams and developing people

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

A comprehensive understanding of pricing concepts and frameworks is required.

Position requires a solid grasp of quantitative analysis, finance, and statistics. The ability to create quantitative models for pricing analysis and work with large complex data sets is required.

Advanced Excel skills are required.

Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with internal and external customers and department staff.

Excellent presentation skills with the ability to present effectively to diverse audiences, including senior leadership, are required.

Ability to effectively manage time and business priorities is required.

Ability to travel to Generac facilities globally to collaborate with team members in-person, if needed.

Preferred Job Requirements

Education

MBA or master's degree in economics, data sciences or related field

Certification / License

Certified Pricing Professional (CPP)

Work Experience

10 or more years of progressing pricing experience in industrial, manufacturing or technology industries is desirable.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

Experience with SAP or equivalent ERP system, building and maintaining dashboards with equivalent BI applications.

Desire to continuously explore advanced analytics in pricing, and algorithmic pricing engine using AI/machine-learning.

Strategic thinking and ability to identify growth levers.

Able to influence others without direct authority and work effectively with all levels of the organization.

Exposure to SaaS pricing is desirable.

Familiarity with Lean and Six Sigma methodology is desirable.

Member of Professional Pricing Society or relevant external professional group.

Effective disruptor - willing to push for change.

Challenger mindset - ability to push past status quo & obstacles to implement vision.
