Position
The Director of Construction will oversee all construction operations, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest standards. This is a key leadership role responsible for driving project performance, mentoring teams, and supporting the company's continued growth.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the construction department, including Project Managers, Project Coordinators/Engineers, and Field Staff (Superintendents).
Oversee project execution from preconstruction through closeout
Work closely with Estimating, Preconstruction, and Business Development to support pipeline and project planning
Implement and improve project management systems, tools, and processes
Ensure safety, quality, schedule, and budget compliance across all projects
Mentor and develop teams; support hiring and onboarding as the company grows
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, trade partners, and internal teams
Identify and mitigate project risks early and effectively
Report regularly to executive leadership on project status and departmental performance
Qualifications
10+ years of experience in commercial construction, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
Proven track record managing teams and complex commercial projects
Strong knowledge of construction methods, scheduling, and project controls
Excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making skills
Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, etc.)
Ability to thrive in a growth-oriented environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience at a mid-size or rapidly growing general contractor
Background in ground-up commercial construction
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
