Working closely with a highly skilled leadership team, the Assistant Head will provide direction and oversight across key academic and operational areas. This position is well-suited for an experienced educational leader or an aspiring Head of School, as The Stony Brook School has a longstanding reputation for developing and mentoring some of Christian Education's finest leaders. The Assistant Head of School will report directly to the Head of School, playing a key role in shaping the school's long-term vision and strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:
- Communication & Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the primary point of contact for parents and key community stakeholders, ensuring clear, timely, and personalized communication regarding school activities, updates, and concerns.
- Faculty & Staff Leadership: Oversee faculty operations and serve as the primary point of contact for faculty and staff concerns, providing mentorship and support while managing workloads in collaboration with the Dean of Academics. Ensure alignment with the School's academic objectives and foster a positive work environment.
- Student Discipline: Manage significant student discipline matters overseeing all aspects of the process, including investigations, communication with parents, and the implementation of appropriate consequences.
- Campus Presence & Engagement: Maintain a visible and accessible presence across campus, attending student events, athletic competitions, and performances to demonstrate leadership and engagement with the school community.
- Executive Leadership & Decision Making: Lead administrative meetings in the absence of the Head of School, ensuring sound decision-making and strategic guidance that drives the school's long-term success.
- Recruitment & Talent Development: Oversee the recruitment process for new faculty and staff, collaborating with Human Resources and relevant departments to ensure a smooth and thorough hiring process.
- Strategic Oversight of Key Departments: Provide leadership and support to key departments including Academics, Athletics, College Counseling, Health Services, and Student Life, ensuring alignment with the School's mission and vision.
- Cultivate School Culture: In collaboration with the Head of School, shape and monitor the campus culture, utilizing surveys and initiatives to assess and enhance faculty and student satisfaction and engagement.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of senior leadership experience in an academic or educational setting, with demonstrated success in managing teams and driving organizational performance.
- Master's Degree or higher in Education, Leadership, or a closely related field.
- Exceptional ability to communicate clearly, effectively, and with impact, both in writing and verbally, to a wide range of stakeholders.
- Proficient in using advanced technologies, particularly in leveraging AI for educational and operational improvements.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities to analyze complex challenges and provide effective, actionable solutions
