Job Title: Special Procedures Tech

Certifications: ACLS, PALS
Must-Have:
- 1 year of Interventional Radiology (IR) procedure experience, including sedation experience
Job Description:
- Provide safe, quality care to inpatients and outpatients across the lifespan within the imaging environment.
- Demonstrate critical thinking skills for unexpected emergencies during imaging diagnostic or interventional procedures.
- Ensure patient privacy, confidentiality, dignity, and safety.
- Function in various radiology modalities, such as Diagnostic Radiology, MRI, CT, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, and Interventional Radiology/Vascular Interventional Radiology.
- Provide care in procedural prep and recovery areas.
- Demonstrate knowledge of radiologic procedures and safe administration of sedation/analgesia.
- Conduct continuous cardiac monitoring, arrhythmia recognition, and treatment.
- Monitor vitals, notify physicians of patient decompensation, and respond to compromised airways.
- Document sedation records and manage adverse events during sedation.
- Administer contrast, recognize reactions, and manage extravasations safely.
- Identify, care for, and assist in obtaining venous access devices.
- Educate patients pre-and post-procedure and document care per nursing standards and facility policies.
- Collaborate with medical, technical, and support staff.
- Perform daily duties as required by the facility and department.
- Maintain a positive and flexible attitude in a constantly evolving work environment.
