The Work Itself
The principal objective of this position is to oversee and direct Catalyst Corporate's Member Credit Department, the operations and staff which provide liquidity products and services to members of Catalyst Corporate. These liquidity products and services include: 1) lines of credit, 2) term loans, 3) letters of credit, 4) agent CLF program, and 5) agent loan participation program.
The primary responsibilities of this position are: 1) allocating credit to Catalyst Corporate members in compliance with Catalyst Corporate's Member Credit Policy and all applicable laws, 2) executing the delivery of Catalyst liquidity products and services to members in a timely, efficient, and accurate manner, 3) monitoring and managing member credit risk and 4) representing Catalyst to credit unions, leagues and the industry. Catalyst's Member Credit Department consists of two primary functional areas: 1) Member Credit Operations and credit monitoring and 2) administering the Loan Participation Program which involves presenting on webinars and speaking at live events as well as travel to visit credit unions to present and sell the service. Managers for each of these functions report to the Vice President - Member Credit.

The Talent You Bring
The Essentials:
- M.B.A. - Finance or Business Administration and/or CFA.
- Minimum of seven to ten years of financial institution/commercial lending experience including management experience as a departmental head.
- Minimum of one to three years of Loan Participation/Syndication experience.
- Proven expertise and experience which includes:
- High level of competency and successful track record in serving as a senior-level loan officer in either a corporate credit union, institutional lender (such as a Federal Home Loan Bank), or a commercial bank;
- A comprehensive understanding of financial institutions and/or commercial loan documents and their covenants;
- A comprehensive understanding of financial institution collateral management inclusive of prudent collateral evaluation standards, practices and monitoring;
- A comprehensive understanding of Uniform Commercial code law and filing requirements for perfection of interest in collateral;
- Senior level experience in managing a financial institution/commercial lending department.
- Experience establishing and managing departmental goals and objectives, developing policies and procedures, creating new liquidity/lending products and services, and supervising professional staff;
- Proven expertise and experience in positive, proactive, quality customer service practices and relations;
- Proven excellence in writing skills is essential due to the large amount of documents that must be composed, created, organized and committed to writing. Documents include: Contracts and agreements, external communications, instructional material, corporate policies and procedures;
- Understanding of NCUA Rules and Regulations and the Federal Credit Union Act as applicable to corporate credit unions in the areas of lending to natural person credit unions and CUSOs, a plus; and
- Intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Additional Skills and Experience are a Plus:
- M.B. A. - Finance
- Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)
- Previous experience as a senior-level loan officer and department head of the lending function at a corporate credit union or other institutional lender such as a Federal Home Loan Bank.
- Previous experience in management in the credit union industry.
- Capital market experience with fixed-income investments and debt instruments.
- Proven expertise and experience in public speaking and conducting finance/loan related professional seminars.
- Understanding of NCUA Rules and Regulations and the Federal Credit Union Act as applicable to corporate credit unions in the areas of lending to natural person credit unions and CUSOs.
